Judge Land Fines Orly Taitz $20K, File Copy of Order with State Bar of CA
United States District Court (Georgia) ^ | 10/13/2009 | Judge Clay Land

Posted on 10/13/2009 7:45:31 AM PDT by BuckeyeTexan

When a lawyer files complaints and motions without a reasonable basis for believing that they are supported by existing law or a modification or extension of existing law, that lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law. When a lawyer uses the courts as a platform for a political agenda disconnected from any legitimate legal cause of action, that lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law. When a lawyer personally attacks opposing parties and disrespects the integrity of the judiciary, that lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law. When a lawyer recklessly accuses a judge of violating the Judicial Code of Conduct with no supporting evidence beyond her dissatisfaction with the judge’s rulings, that lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law. When a lawyer abuses her privilege to practice law, that lawyer ceases to advance her cause or the ends of justice.

-snip-

Regrettably, the conduct of counsel Orly Taitz has crossed these lines, and Ms. Taitz must be sanctioned for her misconduct. After a full review of the sanctionable conduct, counsel’s conduct leading up to that conduct, and counsel’s response to the Court’s show cause order, the Court finds that a monetary penalty of $20,000.00 shall be imposed upon counsel Orly Taitz as punishment for her misconduct, as a deterrent to prevent future misconduct, and to protect the integrity of the Court. Payment shall be made to the United States, through the Middle District of Georgia Clerk’s Office, within thirty days of today’s Order. If counsel fails to pay the sanction due, the U.S. Attorney will be authorized to commence collection proceedings.

I read this morning that Obama will be attending a function sponsored by (or maybe just associated with) George HW Bush. Does that mean obama is a super great guy?

"My simple conclusion is that we have seen no more evidence of the alleged fact that mlo is 35, than we have of OB being qualified to be president."

My premise wasn't about evidence or belief, as I have explained several times now. It is simply that a fact is a fact, it is what it is, whether or not anyone proves it.

That such a fundamentally simple concept engenders such hostility and argument from a birther means one of two things:

1. They don't comprehend even the most basic logical concepts. (I don't believe this is really the case.)

2. They are unwilling to acknowledge even the most simple incontrovertible logical concepts, for fear the it might somehow undermine a birther argument.

Either option casts great doubt on the ability of the person to reason. Option 2, which is probably the one at work here, demonstrates a mind-boggling degree of intellectual dishonesty. There is no reasoning with such a person. They would argue against gravity if gravity hurt the cause.

"If you are 35 and your drivers license says 34 - does your 'it just is' still apply?"

This isn't hard. If I'm 35, then I'm 35. It doesn't matter what my driver's license says. It doesn't matter if I don't have a driver's license. My age is a fact in itself, apart from any documentation proving that fact.

Is it too much for you prove a thing exists. hypothesizing something exist and presuming it be fact is not evidence that indeed a fact exists.

"2 + 2 does equal 4, even if nobody knew how to add"

"It does, but it can be proved, even without counting..."

And again, the premise isn't about how you prove it or if you prove it. I'm only asking for an acknowledgement of the simple concept that the fact exists on its own, whether anyone proves it or not.

Nothing to do with the question at hand.

Doesn't matter. I am 35 (hypotheticlly) whether you know or not. Correct?

““The Court has actually received correspondence challeng[ing] the undersigned to a ‘round of fisticuffs on the Courthouse Square,’ asserted that the President is not human.”
Can you believe that?

Well, Taitz posted a comment from a man telling her that he had challenged Judge Land to a round of "Fist a Cuffs", although he didn't include the actual text of his letter.

Jim, you and John have basically dedicated all you have to this good work, ever since the time of the Whitewater scandals. And, considering the size of this operation and the amount of server space required, you operate it on a shoestring budget.

What we need more than anything else is new donors. People who come here and enjoy the action. People who come here to find out what’s going on because the media want to hide it. And people who come to join and be part of the Freeper community.

Even a small donation, monthly or quarterly, makes a difference. And the earlier in the cycle, the better, so these fund raisers don’t drag on so long.

So, please consider giving what you can, even if times are hard and you don’t have much to give. Everything helps.

I probably got it wrong myself.

I’m sending in my measly $20 today. We’re dirt poor over in my house. It’s a crappy little cabin but we owe nothing which gives peace of mind.

No you are not. You are 14 and using adolescent reasoning. Not to be insulting but, you are asking us to make a leap of faith and trust you. Take you at your word.

A thing is a thing but, how are we to know that thing is and what it means without proof?

If you only want us to accept that a thing is a thing, it exists by itself and dormant until proof is delivered and said proof examined and found to unprovable.

Then we have to ask what makes up that thing.

Like air and where does it come from and what are it’s components.

I notice you conventiently failed to answer a similar question from last night.

So you premise is a thing is a thing, it can be neither red or green, it is what it is?

What are you seven? Grow up.

This isn’t highschool. It’s not about being liked by one group versus another. It’s not about siding with one group verses another. And it’s not about being a referee.

Furthermore, those on my ping list are not Obama supporters or trolls. That’s just a label the birthers assigned to them. It means nothing to them or me.

They bring logic and reason into a discussion that is suffering badly from the wild delusions and incorrect assumptions of birthers. We’re tired of seeing the birthers make a laughing stock out of FR. We’re going to do our best to prevent it.
