But the charge is that he was defamed specifically on the ‘racial comments’ issue. General character regarding divorce or use of prescription drugs aren’t germane to that. “Character” is a relative term, he would be proving a specific lie versus financial loss due to that lie.

In other words, you said I said X, because of that, I lost YY dollars, X was a lie, therefore you are responsible for the loss of YY dollars. Character opinions don’t matter, the case relies on if X was a lie, was there a loss, and was this done with malicious intent.

Character opinions are mostly just stuff seen in movies, they are more difficult to use in real life.

RE the LA Rams:

“My team. That son of a bitch got my team (the LA Rams).”

“What kind of pressure did he use, Milt?”

“Well, I asked for 64 million, and he said OK.”

“Ruthless bastard.”

I have been a sports fan for years; however, I gave up baseball during strikes and the fact that the games are boring (time between pitches, throws to first, etc.). I gave up basketball since the games are all played in the last 2 minutes by thugs. Football will be harder but I am prepared to give it up. Maybe I will spend more time at church and on the internet where my time is productive.

They don’t want whitey anymore!

Then whitey shouldn’t pick up the tab anymore.

Spineless, gutless white men (Checketts and co.) bend over again.

Without Limbaugh, Checketts and his group would have to find a financial substitute to replace the sizable investment that Limbaugh intended to make.

People seem to forget that there is an extremely limited number of people with the cash to make this type of investment AND the desire to do so.

I did not know this. My sister has been to their house several times. I am surprised she has not mentioned it. Too busy raising six kids, I guess.

“If he can prove the drop was directly related to the libel from people like Sharpton, Matthews, etc, he now can show a direct monetary damage which could reinforce a nice, fat lawsuit.”

__________

The left would be drooling all over themselves to get Rush under oath in discovery. Rush does not want to go under oath to answer questions about Oxycontin, Viagra, marriages, divorces and draft deferment and anything else that they could use as a smear.

And how are such questions germain and relevant discovery? The slander and libel are about racism.

These are the oldest NFL owners. I wonder how many would have coted for Rush?

Ralph Wilson - 1918 - Buffalo Bills
Virginia McCaskey 1923 - Chicago Bears
Bud Adams - 1923 TN Titans
Alex Spanos - 1923 SD Chargers
William Clay Ford, Sr. 1925 - Detoit Lions
Tom Benson - 1927 - NO Saints
Malcolm Glazer -1928 - TB Bucs
Al Davis - 1929 Raiders

The NFL gives “second chances” only to thugs, murderers, rapists, drunks, druggies, felons, dog killers, and steroid junkies...but a conservative talk show host who wants to use his own money to buy a team that is the worst in the league? No.

Al Davis would have been held hostage by MoveOn to make sure he voted no.
