BREAKING: Dems Go Nuclear on Obamacare
HumanEvents.com ^ | 10/15/09 | Connie Hair

House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) held a hearing this morning to certify that H.R. 3200 -- the main House Obamacare bill which was the subject of all the town hall rage in August -- has met all requirements to pass as a “budget reconciliation” measure.

Under reconciliation, the bill can be passed by a simple majority vote in the Senate -- just 51 votes -- and will be given preferential treatment on the House floor as well. The Dems have apparently invoked the “nuclear option” to shut out Republicans and ensure the bill is passed before the end of the year. (see link for more....)

Do we really understand the tipping point to start the American Revolution against England? What were those circumstances and how similar are they likely to be in the near future?

People wrongly assume that we live in a democracy, but we live in a representative democracy. Once we elect our representative, they are free to destroy us, punishable only by being thrown out of office after the fact.

They do not need to listen to us if they think their goals are more important than what the people want.

What would have to occur before the public became violent, on either side? What right will be the last straw when taken away.

Who will be the leaders to lead from the front?

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Re-read or re-think your tagline.

Senate Republicans should stand shoulder to shoulder an use EVERY parliamentarian trick to slow down, delay and stall every single bill that comes to the floor. Demand that each bill be read to the floor. Speak long and slow about every bill. Make it feel like a filibuster.

I’m pretty sure I read somewhere else that the reconciliation rules expire October 15th, in which case it would be too late for the Senate to use that rule...

I heard that also. I also heard that a different type of nuclear option could be used, where the Senate votes for cloture with 60 votes on the Baucus bill, or something considered mild enough for Olympia Snowe, and then substitutes a whole bunch of the nastiest ideas, such as the public option, and passes it with just a majority vote, so some senators in vulnerable positions can say they voted against the final bill.

There seems to be no limit to the deviousness of our representatives.

I think people are way behind. I don’t think they plan on ever leaving office, because we will be under dictatorship.

Even the next few challenges for 2010, the fix is in. The conversion to a dictatorship by the current King Obama and his communists machine will be complete by the middle of next year.

2008 was closer than the final tallies appear to indicate. The right amount of effort in the right counties and 2012 could be a good year for America.

Why do we even have rules for these people who pretend to follow?

If the internet ever gets eliminated (or limited), then we have real problems.

” They will have complete power of all of us.”

Speak for yourself. As long as I draw breath and have means to resist them, they won’t have complete power over me.

Until they can get rid of the problem of an armed citizenry, they are a long way from realizing their dreams of dictatorship. If they think Americans will quietly turn in our arms like the British or the Germans, they have severely underestimated the number of patriots left in this land.

Freepers can deceive themselves all they want, but a health care bill is going to pass this year. Nuclear option or not. This has become a face-saving objective of Obama and the DEM leadership.

And we can bark all we want, but until the GOP controls at least one of the houses without fear of RINO crossovers or the white house, we are going to get what the majority voted for.

“I’ve never seem a suicide performed in public before. That’s what the Democratic party is doing this year. “

Maybe not. Lots of dems are acting like 2010 is in the bag, or irrelevant.

You may be. But I will not, I would not survive the transition.

Fine, they have the votes, pass it.

We all know what's coming.

Do we? I sense it will be far more passive than Freepers would like to believe.

They won’t have any power over me either, but that is their plan. They want total control over everyone. That is their master plan

They have probably been assured that the formality of elections will not interfere with their careers. The election process, like every other American instititution, has been sold to the highest bidder. You will NOT be able to vote out the oligarchs.

Its not who gets to vote but who gets to COUNT the votes that matters.

Ah, but they own the census, and thus redistricting which will cement their lead for a long time to come.
