WASHINGTON - The unprecedented number of death threats against President Obama, a rise in racist hate groups, and a new wave of antigovernment fervor threaten to overwhelm the US Secret Service, according to government officials and reports, raising new questions about the 144-year-old agency’s overall mission.
The Secret Service is tracking a far broader range of possible threats to the nation’s leaders, the officials said, even as it also investigates financial crimes such as counterfeiting as part of its original mandate.
The new demands are leading some officials, both inside and outside the agency, to raise the possibility of the service curtailing or dropping its role in fighting financial crime to focus more on protecting leaders and their families from assassination attempts and thwarting terrorist plots aimed at high-profile events.

You know how you can look for a goverment informent in a militia or conservative blog?
You look for the person who wants to kill the president or overthrow the goverment and is vocal about it. Chances are he is the one offering to make bombs or sell illegal weapons.
If the goverment was concerned about terrorists, they would go after Eco Terrorists like ELF or ALF. Most polictal violence comes from the left.

Yes, I would imagine that most of the real threats against Obama are made by Leftards with the express purpose of providing rationalization for Administration “Czars” who want to create a STASI style secret police force charged with suppression of free speech and armed with the force of the federal government.
Come to think of it: Maybe Obama himself is behind the campaign?

A friend of mine in San Francisco reported hearing several SS agents from Obama’s protective detail talking in bar recently, and they were full of complaints about not being paid for overtime, being overworked and stressed out.
When the agents finally departed after about five rounds of drinks, the bar girl complained that they didn’t leave a tip.
Don’t forget the ACLU, this list could get really long.
Probably needed the money to pay for their own transportation back home.
