Glenn Beck Warns Of OnStar Technology
Joe Seales ^ | 10-22-09 | Joe Seales

Audio From Glenn Beck's Radio Program (Aired LIVE 10.22.09)- Did you know OnStar has the ability to shut off your engine, deflate your tires and listen to what you are saying inside your car?? It's true. They never used to use this technology, though it has been available- but now that the government is running GM, apparently they have decided to go ahead with it..Did we miss that press release? At the very least, it should concern you..with this kind of technology in the wrong hands..

Man what a flash back. I had a Chevy Monza in college. It’s engine was so anemic, I had to turn the AC off to get to highway speed. You couldn’t see the lanes behind you. It sounded horible. You had to make sure a girl REALLY like you before she saw the car.

I drove the crap out of that car. At least three times, I had idiot buddies pull the emergency brake as I was driving, as a joke, throwing into spinning skids on gravel roads.

I put over 100k miles on the car and wouldn’t die, I eventually had the money to buy a newer car. A decade later, I drove back to my home town and that clunker was still on the road. It had rusted out, the head liner hung down to the back seat, the suspension was gone, the muffler drug on the ground but it was still being driven. Unbelievable.

I hated that car, it’s still probably out there making somebody miserable.

“The listening in on conversations is the only thing I would worry about. Still, given how often the gov likes to use wiretaps, I could see the FBI using it to bug someone’s care.”

If one just happens to be a conservative, right wing, domestic terrorist spreading lies about government health care and talking critical of Obama’s circle of Maoist droolers, could they be on the enemies list?

I am sure Beck has some worries given his airing of the ACORN corruption videos and the tying together of Obama’s circle of revolutionary buddies.
Don’t doubt the far reaching ability of left winger commies in their recruitment of thought police. Leaving open channels is a security risk when we know what the enemies of Liberty are planning for us. You have nothing to worry about until they come for you.

Well, for crying out loud - I’ve owned one GM product and hated it. I love my hands-free bluetooth device for my phone (which also has GPS). I also am very adept at using the M.A.P.S. system to find my way around unfamilar areas when traveling. I carry a spare key in my wallet in case I lock myself out of my car - only takes a few seconds also. I drive vehicles which are extremely low on the stolen vehicle list of desirable vehicles (1990 F-250 Diesel; 1999 Durango; 2005 Town & Country). My tire pressure is checked at each oil change. Anything I missed?

Word of warning, don’t use fix-a-flat if you have a flat tire. Don’t ask me how I know.

I always remind my friends that if they're going to drive somewhere to murder somebody, they need to turn off their GPS, take out the EZPass and leave the cellphone at home.

Oh, and I tell them to glue the soles of a pair of shoes two sizes bigger to the shoes they usually wear.

I'm a good friend.

Beck also said he has traded all of his American vehicles for foreign vehicles without onstar or similar technology.

Way to support your team, Glenn. How do we know Glenn isn't going all elitist on us. Did he buy a Saab or a BMW? Is he drinking lattes now?

If the auto is equipped to deflate tires, fix-a-flat could clog that mechanism. Fix-a-flat is OK in cars with no tire pressure sensors, but be sure to warn the mechanic who eventually repairs the tire because it will make a mess when the tire is dismounted.

Signing the International global warming Treaty in Copenhagen that give up our Sovereignty as a Nation.

Which treaty will remain operative only as long as we honor it.

Some things are inalienable, like human rights and national sovereignty.

If such a treaty passes, it will have no constitutional validity and will only remain in force until we decide to ignore it.

The thing I’d be worried about is the ability to shut off the engine, if someone can hack the onstar signal, they could use that to stop me and rob me or take my car.

I’d also be worried about the police being able to get a data feed of speed, which they could use to collect information on the side of the road, and send traffic tickets, like a speed camera.

listen to what you are saying inside your car??

I'm pretty sure the fbi and cia already have the ability to listen through a person's cell phone/blackberry.

I don't have onstar, so they have to stop me the old fashioned way...

Well my dog did get locked in the car once, when I went in to pay for gas, she stepped on the door armrest and hit the button to lock it. I’d left the keys in the ignition because I was only walking 10 feet to the cashier. I never thought about her doing that!

However, they didn’t make a commercial starring us. We just used a coathanger to pull the keys out. Rather tricky operation but it worked. And now I always take the keys out when the dogs are with me.
