Actually it’s not a hike in tax rates, it’s a postponement of a planned tax cut, as I understand it.

The Republican position should always be one of fairness: does the proposed tax pay for services consumed by those being asked to pay the tax? If yes, then the tax is okay. If no, then the tax is a transfer payment from one group to another and should be rejected.

Only if the services are constitutional for that level of government.

This is on top of all the fees that Strickland enacted earlier this year, including one that I just got hit with. Renewing your plates more than 7 days late and you get hit with a $20 "fee"
