Rush talked about this happening for years and said it was why he left as well.

Same thing in Kalifornia.

I am getting out as soon as it makes financial sense — gotta sell the house and that is a problem.

Noo Yawk. Not even a speck on horizon from here, should it ever rise so high. (And it won't, absent a ground-zero nuke.)

Been there, done that. IMHO the locals are nicer than legend would have you believe, however.

Except for some ripoff hoteliers and a few other business-types.

I have a few questions.

These “droves” in which people are leaving New York:

1) Were these manufactured in Detroit by Union labor, or,
2) are these “captive imports”, made with non-union labor in Right-to-Work states, or
3) are these imports, stealing jobs from good Democratic voters, errr, Union members?
4) what is the carbon footprint of these “droves”?
5) should any of these “droves” have been traded/junked during the “Cash for Clunkers” program?

Inquiring minds want to know!

The Duke? The Duke of New York, A-Number-1, the Big Man, that’s who!

I’m a California escapee who got myself and my family to Texas some three and half years ago.

When I tell native Texans that I’m from California, they almost always ask me why I left California to come here. They seem genuinely surprised that I’d leave “The Golden State” to come to their little corner of the world.

What I’ve noticed is that most of them have no idea how different the reality of California is, from the long-established image of the place.

I always tell them that if they moved to California for a year or two, they’d move Heaven and Earth to get back to Texas. It’s that bad, and Texas is that good. This also seems to genuinely surprise them.

And an appreciable percentage wind up here in Northern Virginia where they proceed to vote for liberal Democrats so that what was once a rather conservative area is now beginning to resemble a suburb of New York City.

Please stay home.

Hi GOP Lady,
Can you FReep mail this article to me if you have time? If not I understand. I'd love to read it but every time I try to visit any WSJ page my computers CPU goes into overdrive and the page freezes up on me.

Too many of the NYC tax refugees are ending up in North Carolina. I guess it kind of feels like home since NC has one of the highest sales tax rates in the south AND one of the highest income tax rates in the south.
