With liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava suspending her campaign in New York’s 23rd congressional district, Conservative party candidate Doug Hoffman tells NRO that he will reach out to her in the campaign’s final days in order to bring conservative voters together to defeat Democrat Bill Owens.

Doug sounds like a seasoned pro already. He is reaching out to Scuzzy’s supporters and challenging the National Republicans and NY State party to support him.

Did she have any conservative voters? I thought she was supported by liberals and party liners. In that case they won’t be happy with Hoffman and probably vote for Owens.

Most likely, if you consider Newt types conservatives (and I do, to an extent). But then there’re all those people who show up on election day to pull the lever for “R” or “D,” unaware of the actual humans behind the letters. Those who usually vote R, finding only D, will look for something, anything, that isn’t D. Hoffman will benefit from these voters.
I will pray for you Doug Hoffman. Do NOT let the wiles of the demons that influence DC enter your heart! Stay a man of the people and do all you can to be WORTHY of their support!

Yes, and there’s also those people who might have wanted to support Hoffman, but end up thinking a third party just can’t win and they have to pull the lever for the R. Had this race gone down with three candidates, I would have loved to see a poll asking people how confident they were in their vote a day before the election, and if they changed their vote when it came time to pull the lever.
We need Doug Hoffman’s all around this Country...we can call it..the DOUG HOFFMAN movement...it only takes a few brave men and women..who is up for the task?

I imagine it’s too late to change the ballots, so they’ll probably pull the R anyway.
This is such a hot race..whomever is going to vote is going to know the deal..that’s my opinion. I think the difference of her on the ballot will be negligable. People who aren’t conservative is all...Actually, it’s better..at this point might pull votes away from the Dem. Who knows? It’s all in God’s hands anyway.
I never pledged to support her. Hoffman did.
But Scuzzy dropped out, and may put her weight behind Hoffman. What say you then?
If an unprincipled candidate received the support of a leftist, it wouldn’t impress me.
