It’s supposed to be a bi-partisan agreement that federal funds will NOT pay for abortions in Obama/Pelosicare-the dems are hemming and hawing around—they have no plan to give in to this even if the vote passes—Boehner keeps trying to pin down the dems to guarantee the Stupak amendment if it passes—GO JOHN

And that amendment that supposedly "forced" them to go on what ever plan is enacted states that is a voluntary move. They can stay with what they have till they die.

Social Security was voluntary at first.

Dems already saying if the house passes the Stupak amendment they can't guarantee they'll support it when they have to reconcile it with a Senate bill. All the more reason for Republicans NOT to vote for this amendment. If they vote YES, all they're doing is ensuring PelosiObamaCare passes the house.

Yet, it’s on C-span. It’s on cable, of course, or you can watch here by directing your media player to http://play.rbn.com/play.asx?url=cspan/cspan/wmlive/cspan1v.asf&proto=mms?mswmext=.asx

Last I heard the vote will be around 10:30 EST tonight, but to be honest I forget my source, and that information might be outdated.

According to Kathryn Jean Lopez at National Review:

NRO has two sources who say Heath Shuler is a "nay." No official confirmation.

Please let this be true.

All the anecdotes the Democrats put forth involving the suffering of children is overshadowed by their unwillingness to consider the welfare of children yet born.

Boehner is doing a good job calling this fact on the floor.

Does anyone have a count of the Republicans that might vote no on the Stupak amendment? God I hope they're not stupid enough to fall for this.

Yes, he is. Way to go John Kline!

And Leader Boehner just now made it plain and simple. The abortion amendment is a Pelosi scam. It is a fig leaf to cover Democrats who think they can get away with voting FOR federal funding for abortions, after they vote against it.

Actually you’re not quite right. The leader of the Democrats - Obama - voted to maintain the practice of killing people even after they’re born, when he was in the IL State Congress.

Democrats just kinda like killin’; unborne babies, newborns, the disabled (e.g., Terri Schiavo), those who would otherwise get “end-of-life-care,” etc.

We can vote out a lot of blue dogs even if this bill fails. It’s not worth the risk.

What happens if the anti-abortion provisions make it into this bill, but are not in the final bill after reconciliation with the Senate? Do the blue dog/pro-life Dems vote yes or no on the final bill?

I was just wondering that myself. I want somebody to tell me if a person can’t afford health insurance now how are they suddenly going to have the money to pay for it in the future. This whole thing is insane.

The democrats are using BS anecdotes and the last one essentially saying america is suffering from Obamacare-phobia.

(see michael jackston “that’s just ignorant.” Obama as michael jackson?)
