I cant begin to imagine how hard it would be to leave my family for months at a time, especially if my destination were Iraq or Afghanistan. And I dont know how I could deal with my wife being deployed overseas. These reunion videosfor me, at leastshed a tiny beam of light on how emotionally draining being a military family can be. Theyll also make you want a dog. To commemorate Veterans Day, here are some overjoyed dogs greeting returning soldiers.

I think this is a good contribution to Veterans' Day. I searched for it under the title and didn't find it. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.

My youngest son, who is only 12, has expressed two desires. He wants to join the Army and while in the Army he wants to own a dog.
My advice to him? Simple enough. Save a little from his bimonthly Army check and when he has enough saved up to buy an M1 Garand.
I’m okay with him owning a dog.

"My youngest son, who is only 12, has expressed two desires. He wants to join the Army and while in the Army he wants to own a dog." Your son should be advised that as a Military Police dog handler, the world could be his oyster ;-)

I’ll pass that info on to him. However, I’m pretty sure he wants to carry the rifle!
Who knows - right?
I’m proud like all get out that patriotism flows through his veins!

Seeing stuff like that makes me wish I wasn’t allergic to dogs.
I couldn’t hold the tears back either, free.

Every time I think I'm getting cold, callus, and mean one of you post something like this.
Still a little bit of the ol' humanity in me. Thanks.

"However, Im pretty sure he wants to carry the rifle!" LOL...Dog handlers get rifles, sidearms and dogs!! And where they might be working in support of the Secret Service, they're also authorized a civilian clothing allowance!
