Police arrested 22-year-old Abdul Walid Hamid of Hayward on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 4, after he reportedly tore a crucifix from a person's neck and scared others at Stoneridge Shopping Center.

Hamid, an employee at a mall kiosk near Starbucks, has been charged with battery, terrorist threats and grand theft.

According to reports, Hamid was yelling "Allah is power" and "Islam is great" while holding a pen in a fist over his head. Witnesses said he shouted anti-Christian comments, said police.

Lt. Mike Elerick of the Pleasanton Police Department said the man was not provoked and didn't threaten violence, but he committed robbery when he grabbed and broke a crucifix off someone's neck.

“I wish some f**** punk jihadi would pull that stunt near me. I’d beat his goat loving butt to a pulp.”

Seriously one of the funniest posts I’ve seen here in FR land....thanks for the laugh.

“Yeah. No one ever pulls that crap where I am either. I always wonder, when I see a story like this, why someone (better several) in the crowd didn’t chill the idiot out. What the heck are they scared of? Then I remember...

Arrested for hate crime, mob action. The media crucificion, Geraldo sifting thru their grade school records, Getting sued by the aclu, ect...”

Somebody lunges at my neck I'm going to assume they are trying to kill me, I won't assume they are trying to just grab my cross. I will do what my self-defense trainer (and former Special Ops guy) has told me to do. Always assume they are trying to murder you and behave accordingly. NEVER give somebody attacking you or someone near you the benefit of the doubt! NEVER!

I have an Italian soccer jersey that displays a big ass crusader cross. I love walking around diverse neighborhoods to share my diversity.

Celebrate diversity!

Stoneridge - Has to be CA.

Yes it was California where this Muslim was arrested.

Would you prefer this Kansas Boy?

Why don’t passers by just beat the daylights out of people like this?

There’s an Oakridge and an Eastridge in San Jose, but no Stoneridge. There’s a Stonestown Galleria in SF.

There’s an Oakridge and an Eastridge in San Jose,

LOL. Well, I knew there was some sort of "ridge" in San Jose, because I went ice skating there some years ago. Speaking of skating, I will be in San Jose tomorrow night to see the Sharks play hockey.

Yes, wearing a Crucifix is a hate crime.

Actually it is assault and battery (assault is technically threatened battery; unwanted contact with a person or something “connected” to them such as clothing, a purse, jewelry, or even a car is battery).

That would be Eastridge, with the skating rink. Have fun with the Sharks.

No you weren't, cause that aint the name of the mall...

Only someone in Kansas City could think that was somehow funny or clever.

Sorry to disappoint, but it seems nobody here turned their heads and ignored this Muslim's rantings..

A sad day when even if he didn't take the crucifix, the mall would have fired this guy just for his Muslim hate rantings, while the U.S. Army would no doubt have ignored it, and then promoted him.

Hamid was arraigned Tuesday morning at Alameda Superior Court in Pleasanton on charges of battery, grand theft, exhibition of a deadly weapon and a possible hate crime. Deputy District Attorney Ronda Theisen requested his bail remain at $27,000.

LOL! They just threw the book at the junior terrorist.  I wish Ronda Theisen would take care of Hasan's criminal case.

Hasan was doing everything but wearing a sign on his military uniform that said, "Kill American infidel dogs" and people from Virgina to Texas routinely ignored it, not to mention the FBI yuking it while reading Hasan's emails to al qaeda recruiters.

It’s all a misunderstanding. He didn’t understand the customs and mores of this country. He was just reacting in the way he would be encouraged or required to react if he saw someone wearing a crucifix in the Muslim dunghole country that spawned him.

She was guilty of the anti-muslim hate crime of wearing a cross (shudder) in public.

Radical Islam is an insane murder cult; moderate Islam is its Trojan Horse in the West.
