According to the Politico, an unnamed Obama aide is claiming that President Barack Obama did not actually bow to the Saudi King. But looking at the video, it seems to be a case if "Do you believe the White House or your lying eyes?"

But the video that accompanies the news stories clearly shows President Obama bowing before King Abdullah. Therefore, the White House appears to have forgotten the old political maxim, "When you are in a hole, stop digging."
The "explanation" has elicited derision throughout the blogosphere. Ed Morrissey at Hot Air noted that Barack Obama is taller than Queen Elizabeth but did not in fact stoop or bow to her. Kathyrn Jean Lopez at National Review Online quotes an emailer as saying, "I did not have 'salutational' relations with that man." The Weekly Standard complains that the mainstream media is, by and large, giving Barack Obama a pass for both his violation of protocol and custom and for his lame excuse of the same.
Unfortunately, in this age of the Internet and YouTube where a faux pas can be played over and over again by people without having to deal with the filter of the mainstream media, the bowing controversy is refusing to die.
