I believe this video has been posted on FR before. I think it’s interesting, funny at some points, silly here and there, and infuriating once or twice.

First, as a country boy from the Carolinas, I think the image of Rednecks is done a disservice when neo-nazi’s are thrown in and they are all stereotyped as war-hungry. On the same token, the country folks I know are ready for a fight IF one is brought to them.

As to our military, I suppose some would do as ordered if they were sent into the streets against their fellow citizens — but I’m fairly confident most wouldn’t. Most military and former military I know understand their oath to protect and defend the Constitution better than that. Sorry, but the very idea that F-15 pilots or Apache gunships would strafe American citizens or that M1-A1’s would roll over them in the streets is not even remotely realistic — certainly not on a grand scale.

Perhaps some law enforcement officers would attempt to enforce gun confiscation edicts from Washington or other scut-work, but I have a feeling that wouldn’t be the case uniformly. I think the Sheriff’s and deputies elected by the people of their counties would be less likely to do something that foolish. Maybe in large urban centers and where LE are appointed and not elected, some would be more likely to accept federal mandates to disarm or enforce other such decrees — but it would by no means be universally obeyed.

Most likely to try to enforce such federal policies would be, obviously (to me at least) the federal law enforcement bureaus — maybe the FBI, BATF, US Marshals, IRS jackboots — but even then, not all would go that far.

Could the Feds put enough of a contingency force together with federal law enforcement and compliant state and local law enforcement to contain mass civil disobedience or resistance? Unlikely.

This isn’t to say that tyranny by Washington isn’t a real threat. That isn’t to say they wouldn’t at least be caught trying. And if they did, they’d have to rely on “forces” not legitimately or officially organized — like, say, ACORN, the SEIU? — and perhaps forces from outside the United States. Would foreign forces be willing to come in and “police” metropolitan areas under the auspices of the UN? Are you joking? In a heartbeat — at least ideologically. Realistically? There are 130 million armed Americans. They’d think twice, or three times.

We are a ways from any of these contingencies becoming necessary — that is, barring a “national emergency.” Now, if the H1N1 flu pandemic turns more nasty, or we are hit by a MAJOR terrorist attack, or Israel attacks Iran and Islamic violence breaks out worldwide (and it surely would here too) THEN all bets are off. I think most of us believe that the current crowd in Washington, should they feel their power threatened, or should they see the opportunity to make their power permanent, they’d do it.

RIght now, to be effective, we should be working at overwhelming the Obamunists at the polls in November 2010. Of course they will be corrupt. Of course they will TRY to hijack the elections. We can’t let them. We should have a watch posted at every poll, manned by more than two Freepers, Tea Partiers, etc. And we should not settle for dishonesty or defeat. And, if we lose, then the route of non-violent protest and resistance could be effective — with the realization that, if attacked, we would not hesitate to defend our families, hearth and home. And, we should all be at work on our State governments, fighting for them to declare sovereignty based on the Tenth Amendment, and refusing to implement such travesties as Obamacare, Cap and Tax, or other massive, ridiculous and dangerous Socialist policies.

I, like many of you,am prepared to defend myself and my Constitutional rights if pushed into it. But I would rather that somber possibility be avoided unless it becomes absolutely necessary. There are plenty of options still open to us NOW, but the time is short. We can do it — and we must. The alternative won’t be some kind of Redneck Rampage. The result would be too horrible to countenance.

Unfortunately, I think Perry is an opportunist who is trying to campaign on the coat tails of the Tea Party Patriots when it suits his re-election bid. He won't do squat. Deb Medina is a true grass-roots conservative, but unfortunately she won't have enough PR to compete with Perry or KBH (barf).

Right. It has to be the lesser of two evils.

So, what, exactly, is the problem with that video, besides the denigrating song? I mean, fully-automatic weapons. What’s not to love? Only limp-wristed commies trying to turn the USA into Libtardistan can possibly have a problem with real Americans with guns.
