No link for this as I just heard this being reported on FOX News. It appears that some liberal lawmakers, Charlie Rangel, David Obey and a couple of others may be proposing a "War Tax" on the wealthiest of Americans to pay for any upcoming troop surge in Afghanistan.
If there is such a thing as poetic justice...this is it. They would effectively be making all of the rich, anti-war Hollywood leftists pay for a war they have claimed to be against for the past 8 years.

Anything to get money to the troops. They need it and if all Americans have to give than that is fine, but just the rich? No!!! Make every person give one percent AND DEFINITELY INCLUDE all those people getting their 300 dollar a month welfare checks.

Why is it that the first thought from a Democrat is a tax? Why no option of cutting spending? No, don’t answer that - I already know.
Commercialize the war. Sell sponsorships for the different units. Hell we could have the Nike symbol on uniforms. GE sponsoring bombs. Or we just put it on the tab for future generations.
I heard his worthless comment about only military families sacrificing for the war. Any tax imposed will also be paid by military families as well so he just wants another burden put on military families.
I’m all for a tax if it will only be spent prosecuting the liberals.
Meanwhile, the far more expensive Health Care bill will cost us trillions, but is being touted as a way to save money.
Lets put aside for the moment that he's already broken that word....he did it with cigarettes and that affects many people who make less than any of those numbers, but the thing that will make this so sweet is that this is a tax that will make the lefty's SCREAM

The job of the government is to pay for conflicts. Perhaps they could quit taxing and spending on UnConstitutional social programs and stick to the business they were intended to do.
This “war tax” should hammer some politicians too!
If Democrat Charlie Rangel would just PAY his taxes we could fund the war for at least another year.
