Time Cover Story: Bush Decade 'Hell,' Obama Decade Better
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 11/25/2009 6:36:42 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

In one tidy cover story—The Decade From Hell And Why The Next One Will Be Better—Time sums up the last decade and the one to come. Things were "hell" under George W. Bush, but will be better under Barack Obama.

Class dismissed: that's really all you need to know. But just to drive home the Manichean message, Time editor Rick Stengel and Andy Serwer [of Time stable-mate Fortune], who wrote the cover story, appeared on Morning Joe today.

Of course there's the inconvenient detail about Barack Obama having been elected in this decade. But not to worry. Serwer explains "you may see Barack Obama being elected as the beginning of the next decade."

Excerpts from the pro-Obama babble . . .

Makes no sense. We had 8 years of global cooling during the Bush Administration.

Man, does Time magazine have a plan to stay in business for the next ten years? Just asking. These metro-sexuals with their ivy league degrees are some of the stupidiest people on earth. Have they even taken a glimpse at the re-elect numbers for their heros?

I saw a copy of Time Magazine in a waiting room.

It was so thin, I thought it was some sort of pamphlet.

“Time” just living up to its SLOBBERY reputation. Those leftists brought on their on Hell when they along with Hussein’s organization ACORN managed to elect the imposter.

Time editor Rick Stinker and Andy Sewer, who wrote the cover story, appeared on Morning Joe today. “”

I supposed those idiots slobbered all over them. Ugh, that show is unwatchable.

I believe it’s now distributed as a free insert to Workers of the World Weekly ;-)

We forget that 9/11 changed every hope and dream President Bush may have had for his watch. Economically he managed to keep the nation's head above the water while the effects of 9/11 tried to drown us, defensively he prevented further attacks on CONUS, and militarily he took the battle to the enemy on their soil.

To me, it was a great decade for those reasons alone.

My mother-in-law gave me a subscription to National Review. About a year ago I started taking copies I'd already read to doctor and dentist visits and leaving them in the waiting room. Gotta fight this nonsense somehow.....

I know Times magazine has been a leftist rag for the last 20 years but I wonder if they’re getting any money from this administration. Pretty soon all of the print media and local news media will be owned and operated by the Peoples Government of BHO.

I have to laugh. It’s just like their attacks on Sarah Palin - just because they believe it doesn’t mean it’s true....

You HAVE to be ****ing me.

I have never seen such insanely dishonest propaganda in a leading US print media.

Yet we keep seeing here at FR the the MSM is on a deathwatch. They are alive and very well.

that’s why Time is only read in doctors’ waiting rooms where someone has stolen the most recent issue of Conde Nast and the newspaper is more than four days old

I had a really good career under Bush. Now I've been unemployed since shortly after BHO took office. My mistake was that I never realized unemployment under Obama is better that working. I'm sooo thankful I've a whole got a decade of this to look forward to.

Anyone want to trade 2009 for say, the Bush years? Sight unseen, I’ll take them over the Obama “future” of depression, government spending and debt and inflation on the way!

You misspelled "a propaganda arm of the leftist government in power".

Hope that helps heaps.
