Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

One method of protecting military personnel in instances like this is to Court Martial them. Once they are found innocent and released, civilian courts cannot put them on trial again. This has been going on for many years. I wouldn’t worry to much about it but it is worth watching.

They should be given medals!

Innocent of what?

Innocent of mistreating a prisoner under their care. I believe that is one of the complaints. This should be easy to disprove. Seals don’t need medals, they know they are appreciated by the American people.

" The four Blackwater agents were transporting supplies for a catering company when they were ambushed and killed by gunfire and grenades. Insurgents burned the bodies and dragged them through the city. They hanged two of the bodies on a bridge over the Euphrates River for the world press to photograph. "

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Let's review...

four Blackwater agents were ambushed and killed by gunfire and grenades... burned the bodies and dragged them through the city... hanged two of the bodies on a bridge over the Euphrates River...

Ahmed Hashim Abed...had ... bloody lip ...

Oh yea, I fully understand this one now. FULLY.

Just seems to me that posting pictures of our navy seals is a bad idea, maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know, it’s just seems like something they should protect, their identities and faces?

Merely denying you did it is now enough to trigger false statement and obstruction charges. Don’t read too much into what they are charged with. It is far more useful to look into the motive of the terrorist prisoner. It is exeedingly easy to give yourself a bloody lip if properly motivated. These terrorists train for capture, and know what they need to do to get the .mil to throw charges against their captors. The fact that the higher ups in the military haven’t caught on to this game (even though we have the training manuals the terrorists have produced!) continues to strain credulity.

The convening authority who preferred these charges is Army Major General Charles Cleveland according to the Navy Times, SEALs charged in alleged assault of detainee .

Here is Maj Gen Charles Cleveland's statement when the Special Ops opened their headquarters this summer, Special Ops Command opens new headquarters

General Cleveland said he hoped members of SOCCENT would look upon their new facility as a "home away from home."

"I know it can't replace your family and all that waits for you back home," he said. "I understand the hardships of serving the nation overseas in a time of war, and I want to publicly thank you and your families for the sacrifices you've made in the name of freedom."

Hey, Maj Gen Cleveland, is this how you thank your men for their service? Shame on Maj Gen Charles Cleveland.

If they accepted the Captains Mast, they could still be hauled into court. With the Court Martial, they can’t. Wise move on their part.

The question was a rhetorical one.

They are not guilty of anything, so they don't have to show they are 'innocent' of anything.

Listening to the accusations of the man who admitted murdering thousands of INNOCENT civilians is evil.

No, Seals don't NEED medals, the DESERVE them. And the medals are one way Americans show their appreciation for their sacrifice and courage.

Stop taking prisoners and we won't have to worry about Gitmos and trials in New York.

I read this book one time that said it was, like, really, really bad to call good things evil, and to call evil things good—I think it was called, like, the Bible or something.......Should we , like, you know, worry about that or whatever, here in America these days?

I agree with you. No...they shouldn’t have to prove their innocence. If they don’t have the Court Martial, the prisoner could bring civil suit against them and as Seals, I wouldn’t want to go to a civilian court under these circumstances.

“shouldn’t we not be posting pictures like this?”

I’m with you, these pictures were posted on photobucket by cowboy644 and they are linked here http://www.filairsoft.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-48445.html and here http://www.filairsoft.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-29585.html. I’m guessing that is someone connected to the group or is actually one of them.

People should be (IMA) more careful about what they post on the Internet, just recently one of the crime shows had an episode about a serial killer using information found on the Internet to target families... I know it’s just a TV show.

SEAL Team 10, all but one were KIA, the survivor has separated from the service. There’s nothing to protect.

Their pictures are on the web if you want to see more as well as their story as told by Marcus Luttrell, the sole survivor.

The rescue mission helo was also shot down killing all aboard.

Search for SEAL Team 10, sad but profound story.

The 'prisoner' is a admitted terrorist-he can't bring any civil suit against them for actions done by the military.

The terrorist and those persecuting the SEALS need a shiny boot up the ass. This makes a good case for taking no prisoners. Now, why would I want to join the military these days? I hope the volunteers dry up until the guv’ment has to reinstate the draft — that should earn BO some brownie points.

I’m only trying to honor U.S. Heroes - that is all.

If I’ve violated some restriction here at FR guys, please let me know and I ask the mods to delete my post.

I think pics like in post 54 are way more harmful than anything I’ve posted.

FRegards,

Scott
