Republicans have extended their lead in the generic Congressional ballot to their highest level of the year, according to the latest Rasmussen survey of likely voters. The overall Republican rating has not gone beyond their year-long high of 44%, but Democrats continue to decline. Only 37% would vote for a Democrat, giving the GOP a seven-point lead with a year to go before the midterms:

Republican candidates have extended their lead over Democrats to seven points, their biggest lead since early September, in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot. And the news gets even worse for Obama among independents:

What glorious news. It is a clear indication that the “change” Obama promised was not the “change” that would benefit the country.

Republican candidates have extended their lead over Democrats to seven points,...

Good!

The death of the Constitution will not be as fast and the pain less extreme this way.

See, I knew it, 100% disapproval, and we have the poll to prove IT!

Now we have it just as easy as the lefty omphaloomph pollsters.

Anyone know how “independents” break out demographically?

He is only at 61% because people are very slow to admit it when they have been wrong. If we admitted our errors quickly, he would be at 75% disapproval.

How could so many have been so deceived.....

I think this is really UNPRECEDENTED!

Also, I believe I first noticed this steady decline shortly after I began throwing Steele's fund raising letters in the trash bin at the post office and started writing checks to individual candidates.

I read some other data earlier today that said 97% of black people still think he walks on water. Add to that the hard-core rabid communist left and you get maybe 22% of all voters, so he can’t go below 78%. But 61% is sure getting close to that absolute floor, isn’t it?

I've posted on this before and I'd like to repeat the warning I issued earlier. Don't pay a lot of attention to these polls.

Pay attention to Demographics. Here are the facts of life:

1. 90% of Blacks will vote for Obama no matter what. And this may be a conservative estimate. Obama could be indited for espionage and treason and he'd get 75% of the Black vote.

2. 75% of Hispanics will vote for Obama no matter what. They want total amnesty for all illegals and they will vote for him based on this.

3. 25% of Whites will vote for Obama no matter what. You could have Obama call for the genocide of all whites and he'd still get 25% of the White vote. You have hard core socialists, certain ethnicities, older people who still think the Democrats are the party of JFK, and stupid young people with public school educations.

When you add all this up you are very close to having enough people to win the election. It doesn't make a damn bit of difference what independents think.

Obama will get more than 25% of the white vote. I don't see the GOP candidate getting any more than 65% even if Obama buggered a statue of Jesus on national television while fellating Osama Bin Laden. Its gotten that bad.

I live in New York City. Most of the folks having "second thoughts" about Obama prefer it if Hillary would have won. Not a chance in hell that these folks would vote for the GOP's own celebutard from Alaska.

I heard today that without some kind of event poll numbers like these historically don't turn around. With that said, ready yourself for the event.

I tend to agree with you. I live in the SF Bay area and we are just as crazy as you in NY. We have the same types of white folks who consider themselves intellectuals. And no matter what the evidence, they will persist in their beliefs. For to do anything else would be a repudiation of everything they've believed their whole life.

No they've cast their fate with liberalism and they will NEVER acknowledge they are wrong. It's not in their character. I argue with these types all the time and they are impervious to logic and reason. The only thing that might change their minds is a MAJOR personal tragedy and I'm not even sure about that. Look at how fast people forgot 9/11.
