Huckabee is lying about cop killer's age and criminal record in Arkansas
The Examiner ^ | 12/4/2009 | Kevin Hall

Mike Huckabee is a liar. He granted clemency to a dangerous criminal, but wants us to believe everyone would have acted the same way. Huckabee's efforts to shift blame away from himself includes a total fabrication of Maurice Clemmons' extensive criminal history.

The guy driving the getaway car was also pardoned by Huckabee, convicted of a double murder during a holdup.

This reminds me of that Tom Cruise movie where they arrest people because they’ve seen the crimes they committed in the FUTURE!
The guilt is on the Criminal.
Otherwise, there should never be second chances!

I would say this shows a lack of good judgment and discernment on Huckabee’s part.

Huckabee is toast on this, just like Michael Dukakis was, a’la Willie Horton.

Huck is worse than the Duke. Horton only raped two women before he was arrested. Huck has freed two people who committed murder after their release. Wayne Dumond was the first. I can't believe Huck was ever a serious contender for the GOP nomination. The Dumond case alone simply puts the Horton parole in the shade.

“Less than two weeks later, Clemmons and an accomplice were arrested for two separate robberies on the same night. Clemmons robbed a woman in front of an Arkansas bar. Clemmons claimed he had a gun. The woman said, “Well, why don’t you just shoot?”. Clemmons punched her in the head and snatched her purse.

35 minutes later, Clemmons and his friend hit a man in the had and stole his $500 gold chain in front of a convenience store. They were also questioned about two other robberies and one attempted robbery that occurred the same night.”

Hmmm, sounds like a good guy to me, I say commute his sentence, what say you Governor?

Really, really. He IS an ordained minister AND he’s just been shown to be a liar. This is a COMMENTARY piece, as well as an informational, so the author is most surely entitled to chastise a liar who proclaims himself a minister of the Gospel.

Granny, this site has the Bloodhound.Exploit.287 virus attached to it, per Norton 360, which shut down my browser as the site was trying to load. I’d rethink posting it as a link, were I you!

I’m not sure I saw any out and out lies in the article. However, a lot of what he said appears to be intentionally misleading, especially where he claims he commuted the sentence to 47 years (technically true, but effectively he ensured that Clemmons would be released very soon).

If instead of making excuses, Huckabee simply admitted he let his desire to show compassion cloud his judgment, causinig him to make a horrible mistake, that cost 4 lives, I’d be a lot more sympathetic. The deceptive, self-serving spin, and deflecting of blame makes me sick. It says a lot more to me about Huckabee’s character than the actual granting of clemency.

That's ODD. I go there several times a day with no problem.

Is there an outside chance you want to discourage people from visiting this site? Nice Try!! Next time try to confuse a less savy little old lady, because you're not foolin' me.

I agree about the bad judgement. Of course the next headline on the news will be “ Huckabee lets convict out of Prison on the Promise that he will kill at least 4 Police Officers within Ten Years” He did make a mistake. I wish I knew all the details, though, like why did the parole board recommend Clemmon’s release? How much pressure was put on Huckabee to grant clemency by the parole board? Why has no one kept Clemmons locked up the numerous times he’s been arrested since Huck granted him clemency.? Of course Huckabee is going to get all of the blame because he has the highest profile, and is a Christian, and his mistake probably bothers more than a lot of folks suspect. Probably the other people that are as responsible for this guys release as Huck ,or moreso, don’t give a rats ass.

Just more information to show us just how much of a peaceful fun loving guy Clemmons really was. How could Huckabee not want to let such a great guy back out on the streets? </sarcasm>

Being a Christian has nothing to do with it. As governor, the buck stopped at his desk. Dukakis took a drubbing over Horton, and all Horton did was rape two women after his release before being arrested. Huck is a repeat offender. He paroled Wayne Dumond, who killed two women after his release. Identity politics allowed Huck to remain a serious candidate despite the Dumond blunder:

The video's impact is not certain; Huckabee was already a long-shot candidate before the video was released, and continued to be very popular among social conservatives and southern Republicans generally, despite the fact that the South has most of the states with conservative criminal justice systems.
Fortunately, unlike the Democrats, who made Dukakis their nominee, the GOP rejected Huck, who seems to have made a career of releasing people who murder after getting out of the joint.

I wanted to go there to check out the site, but it tried to load a different site, then tried to download some Java thing and then Norton decided to shutdown my browser. I have no reason to want folks to avoid your site; it was just a friendly notice to be wary and have your anti-virus software up to date, like TODAY, since Norton says it was a virus discovered YESTERDAY.

You want to take it otherwise, be my guest.
