Palin devotees line up in Northern Va. (They say "hundreds" but sounds like thousands!)

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Neither the first snow of the winter nor the slushy, untreated roads could deter hundreds of fans from coming here Saturday morning to get a copy of “Going Rogue” signed by it’s author, Sarah Palin. The BJ’s in the Fair Lakes Shopping Center welcomed hundreds of people to line up and wait for hours to meet the former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate.

People came prepared to withstand the elements. Winter coats, umbrellas and most importantly plastic shopping bags, protected their books from the chunky, wet falling flakes. Some cuddled an armful of books for their favorite hockey mom to sign.

The lines stretched down the sidewalk outside BJ’s and continued across the street into the parking lot. That part of the line zig zagged multiple times giving the appearance of everyone waiting to experience the newest attraction at an amusement park.

Police and store employees were strategically placed outside to direct traffic and ensure crowd safety. Brian Watson works at the BJ’s in Fredericksburg, VA, and was brought to the Fair Lakes store to help with the big event. He was notified about the book signing about a month ago and has been part of the preparation ever since. Watson arrived at 6 a.m. that morning to see dozens of people already in line. He said the very first person got in line the day before at noon, camped out overnight and continued to wait until the signing began that morning at 10 a.m.

Beatriz Garcia and Betty Hall are friends from nearby Chantilly, VA, who got in line at 6:30 a.m.

--snip--

Garcia is a registered Democrat who voted for the McCain-Palin ticket because of Palin.

“She’s refreshing,” Garcia said. “She’s a good image for a lot of people.”(continued)

Isn't that an area that went big for Mr. Obama last year? Uh-oh! LOL The comments are priceless (it is MSNBC, after all). I can smell the fear from here...

The more shrill the liberals become shows how insecure they are where they are and like you said you can smell their fear.

I’m 100% certain my 69 year old dad is in line.

Likely with a little too much aftershave too.

I was there - it was an amazing event - spent the night in the rain jut to be #46 in line :) My mom stayed with me too - we met a ton of great people and made some wonderful friends - it’s quite a bonding experience.

It was fun to watch reg. people in BJs who had no idea she was showing up, drop everything, buy a couple of books and get in line to wait it out in the snow early that morning.

The weather prob. kept some people away but all in all it was a very good showing for 3 inches of snow and rain the evening before!

Read some of the comments, love the one with the Masters Degree. Maybe she should go back to the College(s) she attended and get her money back. I love the way they try to tear Palin down, it means they see it coming, their worst fear, the people are starting to warm up to her. They think Obama is smarter? No he’s just another street slickster. Don’t try playing 3 Card Monte with him.

It is my opinion that the(liberals) are so afraid of Sarah and her appeal to the people, her communication skills, her beliefs, her energy, her fearlessness, her desire to reform the ‘good ole boy’ pact, that is our current government: ...

... they will bring all their forces to bear, from every source they have, and lie, and attack her family, and will do anything, not holds barred, to prevent her being elected. Including stuffing all the ballot boxes via americorp, acorn, seiu, etc.

They are terrified of her and her ability to relate to the American people.

God, we love You and pray You protect Sarah and her family from the evil intent and forces against her. In Jesus name, Amen.

The local NBC affiliate, WRC-4, reported 2100 people were lined up. The Washington ComPost reported the same.

Washington Post reported that it was 2,200 who were there for Palin. So, you can accurately say it was “hundreds” — “twenty-two hundred.”
