Move America Forward
“On the First Day of Christmas,
Our Soldiers Gave to Us . . .

the Greatest Country on earth!”

Move America Forward will mark our 12 Days of Christmas by chronicling the gifts that American troops have given to us since the first days of our Great Country. Each day we will tell the story of that gift and why we must celebrate our troops.

We owe our troops so much. Today, our brave men and women protect us against radical Jihadists who want to exterminate our way of life. From the birth of our country until today, American troops have stood for liberty at home and around the world.

Today, on MAF’s First Day of Christmas, we remember the gift of our country.

The United States of America did not exist before patriots led by Gen. George Washington stood and fought for her. They laid down their lives, struggled in brutal weather, and fought the best-equipped war-machine in the world – the British Army and Navy.

On Christmas Day, 1776, Gen. George Washington crossed the Delaware River with 2,400 American soldiers. The conditions were harsh – freezing water, a menacing sky. Washington’s men pushed forward in a bold move during the Revolutionary War. Some of his men fell ill, their supplies dwindled, yet they moved forward on this Christmas Day with the hearts of heroes.

Those same hearts beat in the men and women who now serve our country around the world.

Because of Gen. George Washington, his men and the women who supported their efforts, we have a long tradition of heroes who are willing to fight for our country. That is why we are celebrating every one of our heroes as they fight for our freedom, the very liberty that allows us to enjoy our holidays in safety as our troops fight in brutal conditions in the Middle East

They really need to think about changing the name “Move America Forward”. It sounds way too much like the other Bolshevik organizations out there.

Here is MAF's Second Day of Christmas:
Move America Forward
“On the Second Day of Christmas,
Our Soldiers Gave to Us . . .

INDEPENDENCE!”
(Pictured: The Britsh, under Gen. Cornwallis, surrender to Gen. George Washington)
(Battle of Yorktown 1781)

MAF continues counting down our 12 Days of Christmas, chronicling some of the many gifts that American troops have given to us by putting their lives on the line, even making the ultimate sacrifice. Each day we tell the story of a different gift and why we must celebrate our troops.

Today, on MAF’s Second Day of Christmas, we look back and remember how American troops fought for our newly formed nation, for its freedom to be more than simply a colony of the British Empire. Today we thank our troops for the gift of Independence.

Our Founding Fathers had a vision of independence from Britain, and patriots were willing to put their lives in the line of battle to forge this great country: The American War of Independence, or the Revolutionary War, as it is popularly known.

This war began in humble, brave hearts that yearned for Independence. Many fought and gave their lives, just as today’s heroes have done in the war against radical jihadists. America became fully independent of Britain’s rule during the signing of the Treaty of Paris.

Benjamin Franklin, a Founding Father and signer of the Treaty, said this about the war for Independence:

“In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection. - Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered,” Franklin said.

Our men and women today, and during every war, have continued to support the Independence that the Revolutionary warriors won.

Because of the soldiers who won Independence for America during the Revolutionary War, today’s heroes preserve that tradition in every battle they fight. That is why we are celebrating every one of our heroes during the Christmas season.

Day 3

One Nation Under God...Thanks to Our Troops

12/15/2009

Move America Forward
“On the Third Day of Christmas,
Our Soldiers Gave to Us . . .

Unity!”

Move America Forward has met so many patriots since we began to support our troops and their missions. Veterans, mothers, injured troops, and soldiers’ children from all walks have life have stood beside us to stand for our men and women in uniform.

During MAF’s 12 Days of Christmas, we chronicle the gifts that American troops have given to us since the first days of America. Each day we will tell the story of that gift and why we must celebrate our troops.

We owe so much to our troops. Today, on MAF’s Third Day of Christmas, we remember the gift of Unity.

When America’s Civil War began, we were still a very young country. The North and South were split over so many things, but all felt they were standing for American values and her future.

As brothers fought against brothers, and hundreds of thousands gave their lives, America’s wounds gaped with pain. President Abraham Lincoln stood firm in his leadership, and our troops eventually won Unity, the bond that keeps us together as Americans.

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves,” President Abraham Lincoln said.

Thanks to American troops who gave their blood throughout the ages, our country stands with strength and dignity.

We celebrate every one of our heroes every day.

Our troops can get lonely during the holidays. They are thousands of miles away from their families and their homes in America. Our troops volunteer to protect everything that is good in America, and they continue to give us the gifts we will highlight over the 12 Days of Christmas.

Yet they THANK US for simply remembering them.

“We are all our here doing our best and being strong for each other,” Cecelia Binford said in a note from Iraq. “With the support we receive, our moral stays high. I never knew till this deployment that we had actually had so many military supporters.”

Merry Christmas Syncro! There is nothing that surpasses my LOVE of our beloved military troops (which for me begins at the tip of my head and includes my heart and soul and continues down to the bottom of my toes) than the American patriot standing watch over our dear nation.

I don't know what it is inside me that makes me weak in the knees and brings me to tears at just the mere mention of ANYTHING military, the American flag (which especially brings me to tears!!) and EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that stands for this beloved nation. I am absolutely powerless to the tears that flow.

God Bless our Troops wherever you may be in peacetime and in wartime, you are loved and you are honored by many in your homeland, the great U.S.A. and worldwide (don't listen to the current occupant of the WH or the MSM!)

I wish all my fellow FReepers and our AMAZING AMAZING FANTASTIC ARTICULATE military troops.....a wonderful Merry Christmas!

Thank you very much, jhw61 and Merry Christmas to you!

Yes, our troops are VERY special, what a brave bunch of Patriotic Citizens they are.

Here is MAF's 4th day of Christmas:

Our Troops Never Give Up on America

Move America Forward
“On the Fourth Day of Christmas,
Our Soldiers Gave to Us . . .

Commitment to America!

We are now 4 days into Move America Forward’s 12 Days of Christmas where we honor our heroes who have committed themselves to America all the way up to Christmas day. Our troops have given America so many gifts and MAF is highlighting some in our 12 Days of Christmas. Each day we will tell the story of that gift.

During this Holiday season, our troops are still thousands of miles from home, some fighting for us in the freezing mountains of Afghanistan or the unforgiving Iraqi desert. While we are at the mall buying last minute gifts, our troops are fighting Al Qaeda and the Taliban, and Americans all over are joining MAF in thanking our troops for defending our freedoms. We have created special care packages for the holidays to show our thanks and give Americans the chance to sponsor the care packages with a personal message to our troops.

Today, on MAF’s Fourth Day of Christmas, we are thanking our troops for, and recognizing their Commitment to America.

World War I began before our wounds from the Civil War had healed. Once again, our troops stood up for America. They fought in trenches, on land and by sea. More than 4.6 million Americans served in the war that was to end all wars.

World War I is also recognized as the first “modern war”. With the first appearance of nerve gas, machine guns and tanks on the battlefields, our troops suffered terrible losses the likes of which had never seen before.

Despite this, they fought on to victory. They never quit or gave up on their duty to their country, they fought even in the worst conditions, despite any odds, and in the end they came out victorious. Today, we thank them for their dedication, their fearlessness, their Commitment to America.

As we know, WWI was not the last war for America. Our troops have remained committed to America since the birth of this great country.

Today, American troops serve around the world to keep peace and protect the United States from enemies. Thousands of more troops are heading to Afghanistan, a key country that needs stabilization to protect America and her allies around the world. American troops continue the fight for continued peace in Iraq.

We celebrate the commitment by our troops, whenever or wherever they serve.

Move America Forward

American Troops in World War 2 Brave the Unforgiving
Winter Snow During the Battle of the Bulge

Shelter from Tyranny!”

Move America Forward is humbled by the sacrifices of our troops.

We are now in our 5th day of MAF’s 12 Days of Christmas, where we are chronicling the gifts that American troops have given to us over the years since our nation was first born.

For MAF’s Fifth Day of Christmas, we recognize the gift of Shelter from Tyranny.

On a Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, Japanese imperialists attacked the United States’ base at Pearl Harbor in an unprovoked act of war. U.S. troops fought valiantly against the sneak attack, but 2,402 were killed and another 1,282 wounded.

America was pulled into World War II – and Americans troops stepped up to the plate. Our troops fought back fiercely in brutal conditions on foreign soil. They went on the offensive to protect the homeland from the tyranny of the Nazis and their Axis allies.

They fought back in the Pacific, regaining ground and islands gobbled up by the Japanese, raised the flag over Iwo Jima. Brave American forces kicked the Axis out of the African continent and subdued Italy.

They invaded and liberated France, and crossed the frontier into Germany where they drove hard across Europe. Our troops freed and saved thousands of helpless Jews trapped in the concentration camps. They battled for every inch of enemy territory even in the worst winter storms, until finally reaching Berlin and, along with allies, rid the world of the Nazi threat.

Today, our troops continue to protect us from the tyranny, this time from radical Islam jihadists. There are so many similarities between the philosophy of Nazism and radical Jihad that early on in the war on terror, analysts coined the term “Islamo-Fascism”

We celebrate our troops for the sacrifices they make to keep us safe. They are part of a proud tradition as American troops have always stood for freedom against anyone who threatened it.

Our troops can get lonely during the holidays. They are thousands of miles away from their families and their homes in America. Our troops volunteer to protect everything that is good in America, and they continue to give us the gifts we highlight over the 12 Days of Christmas.

More troops are being shipped into Afghanistan and they need to know that Americans support them - especially during the Christmas season.

Security!
Move America Forward is awed and humbled by the many gifts that our troops have given to us since they first took up arms to fight for our nation’s independence. Each of those gifts was paid for by the sacrifice our troops have made for their country. We owe our troops a huge debt for the price of freedom and today, on MAF’s SIXTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS we remember the gift of SECURITY.

Without security, our freedoms would be meaningless. Our rights and liberties are protected by the knowledge that our troops will be there to stop any tyranny or oppression that would try to take our rights away.

The war between Communist North Korea and the Republic of South Korea escalated June 25, 1950, when the Communists invaded the South. Under United Nations auspices, the United States and allies helped protect the South from the Communists. Not long after, China joined forces with their fellow communists in North Korea to advance the worldwide spread of communism.

American troops defended Democracy against Communism, a conflict that continued throughout the Cold War and has never officially ended. The Korean War is sometimes called the Forgotten War. We cannot ever forget our troops, whether they serve in a time of peace or, like the veterans of the Korean War, in a pivotal time of war against a committed enemy such as the Chinese communists.

Even though this time the threat comes from radical Islamic extremism instead of bolshevism, our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan continue to carry on that legacy of protecting America and the free nations of the world from those who would enslave them.

Today, our troops continue to give us Security from enemies that want to destroy America.

We celebrate our troops for their sacrifices. More of our brave troops are headed to Afghanistan to protect the United States from radical Jihadists. These men and women are leaving their families and friends, a sacrifice during Christmas time and throughout the year.

Our troops volunteer to protect everything that is good in America, and they continue to give us the gifts we highlight over the 12 Days of Christmas.

“On the Seventh Day of Christmas,

Michael Nagy, (left) who gave his life in WWII.
Marc Alan Lee, (right) who gave his life in Iraq.

Dedication!!

Michael Nagy and Marc Alan Lee were made of the same thing: love of country and pure dedication. Both had completed dangerous missions and both volunteered for another mission, during which they gave their lives.

Michael is the uncle of Diana Nagy, a professional vocalist whose hit “Where Freedom Flies” is dedicated to her uncle. Marc is the son of Debbie Lee, who has dedicated her life to giving a voice to supporting U.S. troops.

Both Diana and Debbie have traveled with Move America Forward across the United States on tours supporting American troops and their missions. Debbie tells Marc’s story and encourages all Americans to show their love and gratitude for our troops. Diana’s soaring voice tells the story of patriotism through her God-given art, a stunning voice.

“Marc gave up his voice, so I use my voice to remind America of the sacrifices our troops make every day for us,” Debbie Lee said.

The American Flag is folded at the funeral service for Marc Alan Lee.

Move America Forward is awed by the gifts that our troops have given to us since the fight for Independence. Each day we chronicle these gifts and reasons we are celebrating our troops this holiday season.

Debbie and Diana are two family members who carry with them the dedication that their loved ones exhibited during wartime.

Both Debbie’s son and Diana’s uncle were so dedicated that they gave their lives. They didn’t have to be in danger. They had already completed deadly missions. But both volunteered to protect America again.

Marc stood up in the direct line of fire three times before a terrorist sniper shot him, ending his young life.

"To protect the lives of his teammates, he fearlessly exposed himself to direct enemy fire by engaging the enemy with his machine gun and was mortally wounded in the engagement. His brave actions in the line of fire saved the lives of many of his teammates," the citation for his posthumous awards read. Marc was awarded a Silver Star, one of the highest awards in the military, along with a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.

Michael Nagy was flying one of the last planes shot down in WWII. He was a gunner in the Navy, had just flown his last mission, and was returning home. His route home crossed the path of the aircraft carrier USS Independence en route to Japan, which was short two fighter planes. Mike and his crew volunteered to fly in the place of one of the missing fighter planes, and join them for “one last mission.” Mike never returned from that mission.

The Nagy family later learned from a villager in Maizuro Harbor, Japan, that Michael had indeed given his life when his plane was shot down.

Debbie and Diana are dedicated to giving voices to the American men and women who are fighting for our safety. Both have traveled the country multiple times with Move America Forward to rally for our troops.

It is said that true warriors have it in their blood. They don’t know how to say no to their country.

“When I went to Iraq with Move America Forward two years ago to see where Marc gave his life, and to bring Christmas cheer to our troops, I was honored to give handmade Christmas and Hanukkah cards from Americans to our troops,” Debbie said. “I will never forget their tears of joy as they read the messages from grateful Americans.”

“I love singing for our heroes,” Diana said. “We can never do enough for our troops. They have given their lives for us.”

 On the
Eighth Day
of Christmas,
Our Soldiers Gave to Us...

Hope!!!

American troops from the first days of our country have given hope to citizens. They fought the British, the toughest war machine in the world. The citizens of the colonies wanted freedom from the British crown, and American troops delivered.

Nothing has changed since those early battles. Our troops continue to put their lives on the line for us, fight for America and the freedom she gives.

American troops are unique among their peers. They fight to protect America and have also given freedom to millions around the world. They freed Jews from the deadly grip of Nazi death camps.

Liberty!!

America was founded on liberty – the freedom for citizens to live as they wanted. Freedom, the natural state of humankind.

American troops have freed millions held by dictators, murderous thugs such as Hitler and Saddam Hussein.

Troops first gave America her freedom. Our Founding Fathers knew their struggle would end in death for many. But they were willing to face death for liberty.

“There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty,” John Adams said.

The world has not always seen the reasons for America wanting to give freedom to others. Our soldiers selflessly give of their own lives to free those who have been repressed, beaten, tortured, and held in prisons.

“We seek peace, knowing that peace is the climate of freedom,” Dwight D. Eisenhower said.

America recognized in herself when she had withheld liberty for all citizens. The pain of the Civil War ultimately gave that freedom, a war that threatened the very soul of America. But America is not America without liberty.

“The shepherd drives the wolf from the sheep's throat, for which the sheep thanks the shepherd as his liberator, while the wolf denounces him for the same act, as the destroyer of liberty,” Abraham Lincoln said. “Plainly the sheep and the wolf are not agreed upon a definition of the word liberty; and precisely the same difference prevails today among human creatures.”

Move America Forward
On the Eleventh Day of Christmas
our troops gave to us . . .

These Marines show that they remember
WHY
they are fighting the radical Jihadists.

Safety from Terrorists!!!

Following the brutal and cowardly attacks of Sept.11, 2001, men and women marched down and signed up to protect America from her enemy: radical Muslim jihadists. It was the worst attack ever on American soil.

Americans from every corner of life stood up as one against the murderers who took 3,000 innocents that day. But as some Americans got tired of the war, our brave troops continued the fight to keep us safe. Even as politicians and others criticized our troops, claiming that the troops lost the war in Iraq, our brave American men and women put their lives on the line to protect us.

Memorial for fallen buddies, our heroes

They do not forget. They have lived the worst: the war, thousands of miles away from home. Their buddies giving their lives.

Our troops share that greif and carry it with them every day yet they still continue to fight. For that they deserve our respect.

And our troops don’t quit. Because true Americans aren’t quitters. They are the best we have, and we at MAF will never forget.

Troops in Afghanistan remember the 9/11 attacks

Move America Forward marks the Days of Christmas by highlighting some of the gifts our soldiers, Marines, airmen, Coasties, sailors have given us since the beginning of our great country.

The veterans of World War II and the Americans who worked to keep the country safe as Nazis and Imperialists plotted our overthrow are called “The Greatest Generation.” This generation of troops, who have protected America and fought against radical Muslim Jihadists since that infamous day of Sept. 11, 2001, are The Generous Generation of Selfless American heroes.

American troops volunteer. They give their lives. They sacrifice in extreme ways. So today, on the Eleventh Day of Christmas, MAF salutes them for their work keeping America safe from terrorists.

America’s homeland has not been hit again since Osama bin Laden’s maniacal murderers attacked. We owe this safety to our troops and our intelligence officers.

Today, thousands of more troops are moving into Afghanistan to protect America’s security. We can never forget. They don’t.
