Palin supports McCain '100 percent' [Palin pushes back at TMZ 'disprespect' meme]
Politico ^ | Dec. 16, 2009 | Mike Allen

Posted on 12/16/2009 4:38:39 PM PST by Al B.

Declaring that she “was honored and proud to run with him,” former Alaska governor Sarah Palin pushed back hard Wednesday against a report that she had disrespected Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by blacking out his name on a sun visor she wore on vacation.

The website TMZ accused Palin of “a frontal attack on Sen. John McCain” during a Hawaii vacation this week: “Sarah chose to wear a visor from her campaign -- a visor that was emblazoned with the former presidential candidate's name ... that is, until Palin redacted McCain's name with a black marker.”

But Palin said in a statement to POLITICO that she was just trying to “be incognito” -- to go unrecognized and shield her children and husband, Todd, from paparazzi.

The hotel where she was staying had to chase away five photographers, a friend said.

Palin said in the statement to POLITICO: “I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way. I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."

The Palins were taking a break from a three-and-a-half-week book tour for her million-copy-selling memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life.” Palin has signed more than 59,000 books -- an average of 1,750 per stop -- and has traveled more than 19,000 miles by plane and bus. She has spent 115 hours -- or 4.8 days -- signing books in 33 cities in 25 states. Her stops have included five military bases.

The Italian government does not shield organized crime families from prosecution. They hate them, and the mafia is far more brutal to government there than it would ever dare to be here. They murder judges in Italy.

I know for a fact that the Italian government refused extradition for mafia dons in the '60s and '70s. I did a detailed report on the subject. What they do now may or may not be different. I cannot recall a single instance of an high profile mafia boss being extradited from there.

Thus the result is exactly the same.

The government of Afghanistan embraced Osama Bin Laden and shielded him.

The government of Afghanistan basically did the very same thing the Italians did - without the added insult of being an ally.

Dealing with rogue states, without a declaration of war, goes back to Thomas Jefferson. If there must be a name, that doctrine should be named after the first one of the founding fathers to use it.

As I said previously, the nation of Afghanistan did nothing to us. They would not turn Osama over - that was their involvement. They probably could not have found him if they wanted to.

If they are a rogue state for that reason, then we ought to be kicking the crap out of many nations.

And my point is not about whether we declared war or not. My point is that America does not start wars - A very straightforward statement - and that the Bush Doctrine changed that. I am not comfortable with that outcome.

Party Firsters are always telling conservatives to pull the lever for their candidate to avoid cutting off our noses to spite our faces... telling us that you can’t expect 100% (yeah, like we even get 20% from most Pubbies) agreement.

Yet, you expect that we support 100% of another candidates positions. I didn’t vote for Paul in 2008. I voted for Baldwin. I didn’t have 100% agreement with him, either. Better than the 20% agreement with McCain.

Plus, McCain is a traitor.

“Why is it that even questioning whether this woman really believes what so many are projecting upon her is met with such vicious response? Is she already anointed to be the RNC’s version of Obama for the GOP?

Somebody wake me when she starts stumping for an amendment abolishing Kelo-type takings, or returning the Commerce Clause to apply only to real live interstate commerce...not extenuated, imaginary impacts on it, or drive-by birthing of steaming fresh “citizens” along our southern borders.”

NICE summation!

NewBee, you are going by an article from POLITICO, a known liberal rag with mostly Washington Post writers and a few Mitt Romney suporters.

We have Obama and his socialist agenda because of the idiots
who voted third party or sat at home on election day.

I too am a Palin supporter but I also like all the freepers this posters was attacking...one doesn’t have to love Sarah just because I do.

Good job in cleaning out the trash.

That poster was also a race baiter which makes me think it was who rabs thinks it was.

Where I come down on this, is that backing McCain after last year is soooo unacceptable to me.

Opposing that guy has become dogma in my psyche.

So yes, I was going to address her comment, but it wasn’t going to drive me off in perpetuity. I’m still a fan. I hope she pans out.

I think the reaction to folks taking objection to that 100% comment was an example of sheer lunacy.

As for cleaning out the trash, I think some people just beg for it. This guy in particular was pushing folk’s buttons far beyond what was called for. At least that’s the way I saw it.

It didn’t help any when he posted my name on a list. I decided to ignore the guy and then he went poof. I guess that’s fitting for a poofter. LOL (whatever that is, not that there’s anything wrong with it)

There are two significant differences between Italy and Afghanistan. First, there were enough honest Italians in their government that patience proved to be the wise course. They didn’t like organized crime and proved willing to combat it.

More than that, the Mafia did not commit acts of war against The United States. Bombing an embassy is an act of war. Afghanistan was protecting the head of an organization that attacks nations who oppose it. Since Bin Laden and the Taliban are ideological clones, their disavowal of responsibility means nothing. It’s plausible deniability, and it isn’t very plausible.

Jefferson and Madison didn’t buy it in the Barbary Wars, which were both undeclared. Think of privateering, which is not direct action by government, but is permission for a private entity to commit acts which would be casus belli if done in France’s name. Adams didn’t buy it, either, and we had an undeclared naval war with France.

That’s three of the founders, and George Washington supppressed the Whiskey Rebellion with federal force in an act of questionable constitutionality. The rebels weren’t renouncing the United States, they were retaliating against a tax that was wrongly imposed and ultimately repealed. Although shooting at the government is generally considered an act of rebellion, the so-called rebels thought it was the only way to answer a tax that attacked their way of life for the benefit of others. Washington responded with an army under federal control.

Oddly, most of his ilk are part of the squatter support squad and they do Palin NO favors.
