Reid Bill Says Future Congresses Cannot Repeal Parts of Reid Bill (with Video)
Weekly Standard ^ | 12/21/09 | John McCormick

Posted on 12/21/2009 9:28:52 PM PST by Daisyjane69

Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) pointed out some rather astounding language in the Senate health care bill during floor remarks tonight. First, he noted that there are a number of changes to Senate rules in the bill--and it's supposed to take a 2/3 vote to change the rules. And then he pointed out that the Reid bill declares on page 1020 that the Independent Medical Advisory Board cannot be repealed by future Congresses:

They’re wiping their ass with the rest of the Constitution, why not this part?

[[Nope. The Dems don’t care about the Constitution and the GOP enables them.

The whole lot of them should be tarred and feathered on the Capital steps.]]

you know, I just watched a short film about Teddy Roosevelt- and what a STARK STARK contrast he was to htis present ‘administration’. There he was- an honest politician who VALUED WE THE PEOPLE’S opinion MORE THAN he anythign else- he would NOT let special interests drive his administraiton- and that pissed a LOT of politicians off- but the people loved it-

Contrast with what Harry Reid said about Nelson and Landriuew when he basically called other senators and godertnoros ‘stupid’ for ‘not playing the game and gettign everythign they could’ out of health care ‘perks’ built into the bill.

This present administration disgusts me to no end. Whenever I’ve suggested that the GOP be wiped out and HONEST folks replce them, I’m told ‘You just don’t understand politics- honest peopel would get eaten alive’ Yeah? Ted didn’t- and he rooted out all the corruption within politics that he could- he didn’t compromise- he let the BUMS know in no uncertain terms that he was goign to go to the people IF they tried playing hardball

Our president himself today said “Stop Carping about hte health bill” to hte American people- apparently he ‘cares so much about us’ that he feels it’s his duty to tell us to shut hte hell up and stop opposing HIM and HIS policies IF we think there might be problems with it- apparently Americans aren’t supposed to questio nthe dear leader any longer- and apparently, Harry Reid thinks that whenever a democrat opens his mouth these days, what is said needs to be made a golden rule that can never be quesitoned or changed

Our freakin governmenthtese days is disgusting beyond beleif- - they are a bunch of LIARS CROOKS AND FRAUDSTERS who are throwing their criminal activity straight in our faces and daring anyone to stop them- This administration and his little cronies are spitting in our faces and kicking us i nthe teeth these days, and anyone that vioces an opinion exposing htese facts gets the SEIU sicked o nthem

Teddy also said somethign like ‘ANYONE who advocates foreignism in this country is NO American’ (Hint about who he as refering to- begins with BO)

[[“The principle asserted is, that one legislature is competent to repeal any act which a former legislature was competent to pass;]]

You see htough- that’s the dems ‘loophole’- you see, they weren’t competent- but they passed it anyways-

It doesn’t matter what Reid says. In Congress, each body makes it’s own rules per the Constitution. Members may vote to change their rules on their own terms. Every succeeding body of Congress is equally as powerful as each that have preceded it. Nothing Harry Reid says can deny this fact. The only trouble is that any legislation repealing the democrat damage will have to be signed by a president. Obviously the current president - the least capable man to serve in ten generations - will never sign such a repeal.

Nope

Too “kind and gentle”

We’ve passed that option up and left it in a slushy ditch on the roadside.

IT’S OUR GOVERNMENT

Corporations banks and Wall St. have been calling the shots for some time.

It's ours if/when we take it back.

Things will have to get pretty bad (hungry kids) before J6P wakes up.

So the next republican senate can write a rule stating that democrats can’t serve in the senate? I assume so.

And any citizen can pass a rule that says it’s okay to vote from the rooftops.

Anarchy, here we come...537 bullets - on target - and we get a new government whenever whoever feels the need for change.

This is legal bullsh*t. Any future Congress which wants to change any provision in this monster bill (assuming it passes) only needs to amend the no-amendment clause first. Having done that, it can amend anything else.

Any competent and honest federal court should strike the no-amendment clause itself as beyond the power of Congress. There are ample statements from the Framers, and in the Federalist, that no Congress has the power to restrain future Congresses. Only the Constitution has the power to do that.

And then a future Congress passes a law that repeals that provision.
