Sen. Max Baucus' office Monday denounced a widely viewed Internet video that suggested Baucus was drunk on the Senate floor last week, calling it an "untrue, personal smear" designed to attack Democrats' health-care reform legislation.

"This is beyond the pale, and this type of gutter politics has no place in the public sphere," said Baucus spokesman Ty Matsdorf.

Love the pictures!!!

If Baucus wasn’t drunk (and I say he was) then he needs to see a doctor right away because he had a serious stroke for his words to be that slurred and his thoughts that jumbled!!

Take care Max baby, or your girlfriend will be without her sugar daddy.

“This is beyond the pale, and this type of gutter politics has no place in the public sphere,”

He’s right of course; gutter politics is the exclusive domain of the Rats. They are really good at it, much better than Conservatives.

He wouldn't have seemed quite so intoxicated if he'd been drinking the right stuff...

That's pretty rich. A public pronouncement by himself, on C-Span, in his own words and gestures, and it's a "personal smear". Democrats just do not like the public to notice their strategy of routine petulant truculence. When the pubic does notice, then they really start to whine.

I bet the Democrats could win the college vote if they turn the Baucus speeches into a drinking game.

That reminds me of Vietnamese moonshine. Interesting stuff. It is a drink, fuel additive, paint stripper, disinfectant...
