(CNN) -- Investigators recovered the remains of more than 500 animals after executing a search warrant Wednesday at a home in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, according to the city's chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The animals included "dozens of sheep, goats ... every type of farm animal you can think of," the Philadelphia SPCA's law enforcement director, George Bengal, said.

The SPCA believes two sets of remains are those of small primates, possibly monkeys.

Why that’s de-SPCA-ble.

I’ll bet it smelled despicable. I find it interesting they had an AK-47 also. I didn’t realize an AK-47 was part of the Santeria ritual.

The only thing a little awkward about the SPCA side of things is that they sound like they’ve been made an arm of the city police. Isn’t that normally the role of animal control?

Another example of immigration bringing their culture with them when they get to the USA. I’ll bet you won’t hear a peep out of this from the liberal groups like PETA and the like. We heard an infinity of news about Michael Vick(as we should) but this appears to the 100X worse. We won’t hear much about this because they are immigrants.

>>>The animals included “dozens of sheep, goats ... every type of farm animal you can think of,”

So maybe they just keep kosher.

That’s what I thought. How did they get law enforcement authority? I thought they were just an animal rights group.

Somehow, I’m not surprised that this happened in Philadelphia. I’d be even less surprised if it happened in Miami.

Are you sure it’s not the Philippines (where I am now and hopefully leaving in 2 days)) instead of Philadelphia?

The animals are believed to have been sacrificed as part of satanic worship and Santeria rituals, investigators said. Pentagrams were also seen in the house.

George Bengal, director of law enforcement for the Pennsylvania SPCA, said the agency's officers had entered the living room and found an altar constructed of about 50 primate skulls.

Those involved in the rituals usually take the skull and the feet and the blood and drain the blood from the animal. They'll drink the blood and use the skull and feet as part of the altar.

Neighbors said that a man in his 50s or 60s lived at the property, but that they had not seen anyone there for months.

I reckon I’m living a sheltered life.
I’d be shocked to find out this happens in Hell.
