Transcript: "FRENCH JOURNALIST: Don't you think that by trying to eradicate terrorism in Chechnya you are going to eradicate the civilian population of Chechnya? VLADIMIR PUTIN: If you want to become an Islamic fundamentalist and be circumcised, come to Moscow. We are multiconfessional. We have very good specialists. I can recommend one for the operation. He'll make sure nothing grows back."

Blog comment: It is frightening to think how much Putin must dominate Obama in private negotiations. And what must Putin think about Americans reading Miranda rights to apprehended terrorists?

Though he’s a thug, he’s an admirably pragmatic one.

I’d bet that Putin regards Obama as the most irresolute person that he’s happened across and is consequently not to be taken seriously.

You gotta respect just how good he is at his craft. The rest, not so much...

“It is frightening to think how much Putin must dominate Obama in private negotiations.”

Obama is way out of his league. Putin would rule his little mind.

Sounds like a leader...a strong leader, and I doubt that he's any less a tyrant than Obama, but, Obama is much less a leader.

amazing that in this day and age a world leader would talk like that.

definitely watch the video. and the total stunned reaction of the panel and the audience.

He certainly puts a blunt point on it. Russia is tolerating mosques in Moscow (so long as things don’t get too out of hand, or Putin sends his brutal goons to break off their fingers one by one).

I frankly don’t know what Bummer would be like with Putin sans teleprompter. He is reputed to be able to buffalo widely disagreeing elements of his audience into thinking he truly agrees with all of them.

They are both totalitarian dictators. The only difference is that Putin is successful and zer0 is a bumbling humiliation in everything he says or does.

I wonder how he would deal with a President Sarah Palin and how she would deal with him?

That’s how politicians should be. Thugs who look after their country more than the rest of the world.

I’m goign to be reading his autobiography at some point. One review mentions he trusts his countrymen so much that he is far more honest about himself and his ambitions than most politicians have the guts to be.

Or maybe as an indiscernable fog who tries to tell you both yes and no with equal emphasis. But surely Putin can grok the political machine in the US at least as well as FReepers can, and knows that this is really what he has to address and Obama is but a formality.

Chances are they would understand each other very well and get along well. They are both quite tough and they would be able to negotiate on a realistic basis.

Putin is always coming up with new ways of saying better known public memes. It's kind of like figuring out a new and clever way to tell a Leftwingtard puke that he's a Nazi.

Wonder what his Freeper name is.
