Please excuse the vanity but searched and could not find answers about this elsewhere.
My local AM Radio Station which has brought to the listeners in much of North Carolina and Southern Virginia, both Rush Limbaugh's and Sean Hannity's Radio programs for many years - has announced (but I only found out for sure yesterday) that it will no longer carry Rush's or Sean's Radio programs - as of 12/31/09.
Uh, yeah, that was my point. Nice to see you're coming around.
Excellent.......outstanding. That station used to be a decent rock station before going country; great to see the new format, content....and of course, good ol’ Rush. Thanks much for the heads-up.
Ok, found that 106.1 FM will be carrying Beck, Rush, Sean.
I don’t even know whether I can get that channel or not...,

Ft Bragg - Fayetteville - has 640AM. It has Boortz, Rush and then Sean 1000 - 1800 M-F.
Of course, what you should do is join Rush 24/7 and watch the Dittocam live and download the commercial free podcast.
WPTF is probably the biggest AM radio station in NC. It can be heard in most of the state. I will say that WRDU is a very prominent FM station in the Triangle.
That is what will happen to WPTF - which is THE landmark AM station for Central NC and Southern Virginia.
I know they will lose listeners by the tonload. Hopefully they will find a way to succeed, despite this blow.
The local and statewide (and, nationwide) liberals in power will, however, be hooting and hollering in joy over WPTF’s demise because they have LONG been putting pressure on WPTF to drop Rush and Sean and Levin. WPTF resisted that pressure because the local listening public LOVES Rush, Sean, Levin.
Again, I understand competition.
Clear Channel Communications owns Premiere Radio Networks, which syndicates Limbaugh and Hannity, and Clear Channel has decided that the Limbaugh and Hannity shows should be on WRDU, a Clear Channel radio station, not on a Curtis radio station.
A business decision, nothing more, nothing less.

Someone else is sure to pick up these shows in the area. In the meantime, you can listen via the internet, podcast or on Rush’s website,
That sucks, though. His show is part of my everyday routine.
Thanks - I found that also. I don’t even know who or what WRDU radio is. I have no idea if my radios (home and car) will get that station.
(Re: Rush 24/7 - well, that’s out there if I want to pay to hear Rush - right now, not at that point).
So you are able to pick up this 106.1 channel loud and clear???
The other thing is I heard Sean driving home from work on WPTF - now who is on at the 6 pm time slot??? ON this WRDU station?
You can listen over the internet, which I do most of the time anyway unless I’m in the car.
WHAM in Rochester, NY has Rush from 2-5pm ET
WBNF in Binghamton, NY has Rush from noon-3pm ET with Hannity following.
WHAM also has Beck from 9-11 ET (but cuts off the last hour of Beck for the local conservative personality, Bob Lonsberry from 11-2pm)
WROW in Albany has the entire Beck show from 9-noon
I’m not a big Hannity listener so there might be other places where you can catch his show.

I know - I don’t get to hear all of Rush’s show - am at work - but I do get to hear it now and then and the weekend replays in full.
But so many in my area DO depend on Rush and Sean as our alternative to the local liberal rag (News and Disturber) and the Local Liberal TV stations (WRAL TV).
And of course as the alternative to the dreadful NPR.
WPTF has been a dedicated alternative media resource for almost as long as Rush has been on Radio - so I hate for them to suffer this loss as well as hate having to go find a station that may or may not come in loud and clear on the radios I listen to,
Such is life I suppose.
Thanks for those links....will try them plus the 106.1 FM local station - if I can get it.
I do listen to Sean primarily in the car...on my way home from work....or used to.
Oh yes, you can easily get it: 106.1 on your FM dial. That station has been here for years. I like that they are carrying Beck’s radio program before Rush’s; I watch him on FNC every day, but have never been able to catch his radio show before.
Ok, thanks for that link.
I know the decision has been in the works for months, but I didn’t know about it til yesterday.
Many loyal WPTF/RUSH/SEAN listeners won’t know about it til they try to tune in to Rush or Sean on WPTF and find other programming now playing in those slots.
That link says WRDU radio 106.1 is a 100,000 watts radio station. I don’t think I have ever listened to it before....guess I will be now.
Ok - good - and yes will enjoy Beck’s radio program also when I can get it. (am at work then).
Will miss hearing Sean on my way home from work.
I know WPTF is going to be hurting = I do wish them the best since this was not their decision and since they endured so much putrid vile from the liberals who are in political power in this state.
I agree; have had 680AM programmed on every radio (home, cars) for years to catch Rush. Huge loss for them.
To me it looks like a bad business decision.
Not if they program them on another station in the same market.
