Whales aren’t like chickens and fish. Their life cycle is much more like our own. long lives with relatively few births compared to most other animals. We can’t harvest them like bass or tuna, if we want them to survive.

Can comeone explain to me why I shouldn’t be on the side of the Sea Shepherds?

For the same reason you should not be on the side of Al-Quada.

These nuts have sunk ship and places HUMAN lives in danger. And they are doing for a type of whale that is not endangered. The Japanese are doing nothing wrong or illegal.

It is like disrupting a quail hunt because you want to protect the eagles.

It makes you look like a fool and when you get the tar beaten out of you do not expect me to care.

Australia’s Federal Environment Minister Peter Garrett says the Government is still reserving the right to take international legal action against the Japanese whalers. “It’s time for the Government to give Japan a deadline to stop its program or face legal action.”
But Mr Garrett says the Government is persisting with diplomatic efforts.

“We’re not writing a blank cheque for discussions but we do believe that continuing the discussions that are underway constructively is absolutely essential to try and resolve some of these issues.”

“If we can’t resolve this matter diplomatically - and we will certainly continue to bring our best efforts to bear in order to do that - then international legal action is retained as an option,” he said.

Australia’s Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says Australia is working through evidence it could use in a court case against Japan on the issue.
“If we can’t get there diplomatically let me be absolutely clear cut, that we will use the resources of the Australian government to deploy an international legal action through the appropriate international judicial forum.”

Same could be said about cows and pigs but to me there is little difference food is food. Some say vegetables are aware too so perhaps we shouldn’t eat at all?

Why not, is the 'whale boogerman' gonna get us? There are extra whales and a thriving population of the ones the Japs kill. If the native American and Aleuts can eat them why not the Japs?
