Murdoch Is Breeding A Lunatic Fringe of Commentators (An MSNBC Watcher's POV)
TheKeeling.com ^ | Jan. 11, 2010 | Julian Keeling

Unfortunately I am an MSNBC (particularly Rachel Maddow) fan so I haven’t devoted much time to watching Fox Cable for at least three years, therefore my comments are definitely my opinion as opposed to scientific fact. I have watched Rupert Murdoch turn the media upside down for the last thirty years. He has transformed what were recognized under previous ownerships as venerable trustworthy newspapers into nothing but sleazy tabloids and over the past twenty years the same approach has been applied to his television networks. What a guy. It may be harsh, but I won’t be reading his obituary when his latest wife finally sends him to his grave.

If I remember correctly, Murdoch has always claimed to be an agnostic or atheist. True to those principles he has no conscience whatsoever in ensuring his outlets pump out as much sleaze as possible to attract enough viewers/readers to sell as much advertizing as he can at premium rates. He has been masterful in his endeavors and no-one can deny the success that has come his way. This dried up looking prune of a man, kept active by huge intakes of Viagra deserves a knighthood for his contribution to bringing Europe, Australia and America to the lowest common denominator of taste. Ironically, his Asian activities center around China and there he comes across not only as a China lover but a pillar of society! In Asia he loves Communism and in America, he is a libertarian!

When I look at that arrogant Boston Catholic Bill O’Reilly with his anti abortion right wing rhetoric, that fellow Irish Catholic idiot Sean Hannity and that illustrious Scientologist Greta van Susteren, all three are like innocent schoolchildren compared to the newest recruit, Morman convert, alcoholic Glenn Beck. Murdoch whom I claim has no time at all for religion wears another hat when it comes to the vicious crap that comes from these four commentators’ mouths night after night. I am not a hugely religious man myself, but my liberal Anglican Christian upbringing takes a further hammering from within when I read of what Beck has to say about the world, especially America. The only difference between him and a Muslim Mullah, is the Mullah is committed to getting rid of all infidels. Beck has yet to stoop to those levels of ridding the earth of his enemies. All four have almost successfully assisted me in turning the way of their boss, an agnostic or atheist.

How could God have made four such manicured lunatics to dominate the right wing media? O’Reilly and Hannity are just plain nasty IRA supporting Irish Catholics. They are probably assisting FBI Top Ten most wanted criminal, fellow Bostonian Whitey Bulger remaining on the lam. They both believe in guns and all that other crap that red neck Republicans claim is so absolutely sacred to all Americans. The other two however take the cake! Every time I hear Tom Cruise talking about Scientology, I can understand why it is an astrological religion. That moron is definitely from another planet. Van Susteren is of the same Cruise ilk, an outright lunatic. Beck simply by believing in Jesus spent time in America and the nonsense about Joseph Smith’s tablets, makes him a perfect mate for Greta.

Little wonder the Tea Party now represents the heart and soul of the GOP. Rupert, you will go done in history as a major benefactor in turning the world as I once knew it, upside down. Beck exemplifies how nutty you have turned so many Fox followers into. All we need is “the cat who has just licked the cream” grinning Mitt Romney to take the helm of America in 2012 and the capital of America and the world will become Salt Lake City. I believe the Scientologists have a community outside of L.A. with a house and landing strip ready for guru L. Ron Hubbard when he returns to earth on his space ship. Maybe it is a toss up where you transfer Newscorp HQ to; Salt Lake City or Hemet, California? For a heathen, you couldn’t be mixing in finer company!

Debate it here instead of just complaining.

We noticed this is your only post on this thread

Yes, you're correct, it was.
That's because I usually read the linked article and all the comments before posting.

And I wasn't complaining. It just seems that a lot of Blogs are getting posted under news and wanted you to be aware of that, that's all. (I know you guys are busy and can't catch everything)

Ha! One of the most common complaints here about Hannity is of his being a bit slow on the interviewing and debating uptake.

Well you know interviewing live is like umpiring in baseball: it's a lot harder than it looks from the grandstand...lol.

Back in college when I was umpiring a Little League game, there were about 10 plays in a row when the kid was safe on a call at a base. Then a kid got picked off second base on a line drive to the infield and he was out by four feet. For some unknown reason, probably just the pattern of safe calls before this play, I called the kid "safe" at second. The kids just stood there and looked at me like I was nuts and waited for something to happen. Finally I just said "play ball" and the kid stayed at second. Fortunately the manager of the other team didn't run out and argue with me. I was really quite fortunate that I was in a posh area of coastal California at the time or I could have been attacked by a mob after the game.

My point is that doing anything live is much harder than when you can study and prepare for it ahead of time and basically just read a script. I got out of umpiring after that season. The balls and strikes are easy to call but it takes great concentration and practice to get all the calls right on the bases. My mind would wander too much off into thinking about other stuff when I was a base umpire. It's much easier to be an official in football where you don't have to make those critical calls on safe or out on the bases.

Amazing lack of introspection. Doesnt realize that MSNBC and the like ARE the lunatic fringe.

“No wonder this barking moonbat hates Irish Catholics and brings up that IRA bullcarp.”

Yes, and the fact that he loves Rachel Madcow so much makes me think he’s just a bitter, GAY, little (Orange)man. I looked at some of his blogs and he mentions never having he’s not gotten remarried. Sounds like he gave up his beard and is bitter that he can’t marry his true love in his Anglican church. I’m sure in his mind that this is all because of Fox news, and of course, George Bush.

“Hannity is just not that smart(If I may say it, he is STUPID). He only got on the air because he was a “Rush Light” copycat...but he does ot have Rush’s intelligience or wit.”

N00b, shouldn’t you at least be able to SPELL intelligence before you comment on Sean’s lack of it?

Yeah, I caught the 'Rachel Madcow' line and just shook my head. This guy has some serious 'issues'.

I agree, I looked on the link at some of his blogs and it looks like he writes a hate piece on Fox news at least once a month.
