Gerson: The Humiliations Have Only Begun
The Washington Post ^ | January 19, 2010 | Michael Gerson

Posted on 01/19/2010 10:07:45 PM PST by Senator Goldwater

So, a Republican has convincingly won Ted Kennedy’s former Senate seat. After opposing health reform. And supporting the waterboarding of terrorists. And appearing as a nude centerfold. In a state where Democrats outnumber Republicans by three to one. And where Republicans haven’t won a Senate election since 1972. After a high-profile visit by President Obama. Who won the state by 26 points last year. But who now carries no political weight in the bluest state in the country. With vicious, public recriminations starting among Democrats even before election day. Following major losses in Virginia and New Jersey.

It means that Rahm Emanuel’s “big bang” theory of legislative liberalism is the most foolish political strategy in recent memory. It means that spending political capital on health reform instead of economic recovery and growth was a dreadful error. It means that a crisis that Obama didn’t want to waste has largely been wasted.

Obama now has the highest disapproval rating in the history of Gallup polling for a president entering his second year in office. He has been handed a series of political humiliations. If he takes all of this as motivation to “stay the course,” the humiliations have only begun.

The Lord spoke very loudly with this win. Exactly, one year to the day...no coincident....

1Co 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

I haven’t had the stomach for a State of the Union address in years as they’re generally “a gazillion $ for this, a gazillion $ for that giveaways” but I think I’ll watch this one.

Well if any group can squander any good fortune.,The GOP can.

Look at how they acted when they got power. Spent my money like dems and ignored any conservative agenda.
If the pubbies nominate RINO turds again they should lose too.
Conservatives or go fish.

Oh, this home boy has scored where many count the 'score' as important
billions to the ‘fat cat’ bankers
billions to worthless pork projects
billions more authorized but not spent - that can buy a lot of votes and influence

massive numbers of deep-left, low-level bureaucrats burrowing into the woodwork. HAs he made all of his far-left commie supporters happy? NO, but, he has made far too many comfortable.

I have a concern. With his NPD and communist core, he isn't capable of changing course. In fact he will go all in and press harder on health care, etc. There will be a point where, when none of his plans are coming to fruition, (are we there yet?), the narcissistic rage will manifest itself because he will be approaching the Hitler in the bunker scenario. Hitler said go to hell to Germany - let it burn. What will Obama do? He has already, with his appeasement stance, invited an attack (unconsciously?) on the US by any superpower who possibly could, namely China and Russia.

Will he do a false flag? Are there enough checks and balances? I'm elated about Brown's victory, but don't expect Obama to change at all. What would Mao do?
