A GOP congresman on Sunday backed former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.) who announced yesterday he will primary Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) became the first lawmaker to endorse the former radio host Hayworth's upstart bid.
In a Twitter post, Rohrabacher said:
McCain's wrong on too many big issues: #Immigration, #GlobalWarming, #Bailouts. @JDHayworth is better #AZ #tcot #Hayworth
Hayworth informed the Associated Press late Friday that he was stepping down as host of an Arizona talk radio program to run for Senate against the 2008 GOP presidential nominee.
By law, Hayworth could not remain a radio host and run for Senate.
The former congressman is challenging McCain from the right. McCain is perceived by some in the Republican Party as someone who too often bucks his party, though he has recently scored points among the GOP faithful for opposing the Democrats' healthcare reform bill plan.
Hayworth was unseated in 2006 by Democrat Harry Mitchell.
Not to mention that you actually reside in Arizona!!!!
As good as your 6 issues are, McCain's position on Global Warming bothers me even more. He needs to switch parties.
If the posters here are correct that she is appearing at fund raisers only, then see no problem with that.
You are correct that endorsements are made and usually only one appearance is done. If she does it that way then it would be more the norm. Take care.
Yeah it’ll be interesting to see how much money jd can raise. My guess is it will be mostly from out of state.
All the RINOS like Graham need to do is say a few nice things about Palin (like Steele)..and then she will owe them her loyalty..according to some here.
It’s ridiculous.
And McCain's radical position on illegal aliens would greatly harm this country. He is working hard to increase supporters for the Democratic party.
So don’t ignore it. You obviously don’t support McCain or Palin. Nothing changes, no harm no foul.
Apparently, you haven’t listened to Sarah or paid attention to what she has been saying all along about John McCain. Did you read her book, Going Rogue?
She’s not sacrificed her principles or her beliefs by supporting her close friend McCain. Support has never meant 100 percent agreement. Think back to campaign ‘08 and their differneces on drilling in ANWR.
She has not yet “campaigned” for him. She’s announced she going to AZ sometime in March and she’s given the dates but I didn’t make note of the dates. Do you really think her appearances in March are going to swing the primary election for McCain in August? LOL.
Love how this is written? ..."too often bucks his party." No we're just sick of him and 'his friends across the aisle' and their destruction of our Constitution and foundation. McCain/Feingold.......shove that down our throats? Well it got shoved back up your *ss this past week. A few years too long but nevertheless...people are waking McCain and Moses could endorse you and some of us would still want you ousted. As Mr. Hayworth says, it's time for McCain to come home.....(permanently)
Praise the Lord, the Rep in CA &now pass the ammo...
I hear Congressman Flake has contemplated running against McCain. Guess he’s decided to keep the peace this time around, but who knows. McCain’s senate days are definitely numbered.
I’m not going to try to influence your vote. I respect your vote and you’re certain NOT a troll!
That maybe true “that his days are numbered” but its not going to be J D Hayworth that does it.
At the very least Joe Arpaio with check-mate Sarah Palin here in Arizona... Sheriff Joe carries a lot of weight in this state no matter how hard the feds and others in Phoenix try to bring him down.
I think you already know that I simply adore Sheriff Joe!
I also think it was awfully “timely” for the feds to go after him recently, don’t you?
The best thing Senator McCain could do at this time for God and country is to retire. Pray someone gets the message through to him.
I’d think retirement would be good for McCain but I guess he feels differently. J D Hayworth, with the mood of the country lately might be better to take on Harry Mitchell and get his old seat back.
Lived in AZ. for a while, liked Sheriff Joe,never cared for McCain.
Oh yeah! And it has Janet Napolitano and the stupid pro-amnesty mayor in Phoenix written all over it... and people should know that no way does Palin trump Arpaio in Arizona and I believe Sheriff Joe is no fan of John McCain.
