A blog piece I wrote yesterday on the KSM terror trial, reporting on remarks made by NYPD’s Ray Kelly, has been climbing up the blogosphere today.
First I posted it at my site, LoudCitizen.org. Then I cross-posted it to FR and UrbanElephants.
Next, The Washington Times quoted an entire paragraph of the piece, giving me a “hat tip” and linking directly to my blog. Their blogger Kerry Picket was tipped off by a friend of mine.
From there, I managed one rung up the ladder when Josh Goldberg made it a “Must Read” at Lucianne.com this afternoon.
Based on that success, I made a pitch to Andrew Breitbart’s assistant that it be featured at BigGovernment.com. They got back to me in a flash and quickly agreed, linking to it from the marquee at the top of their page (see link no. 11) under the headline “NYPD COMMISSIONER KELLY ON DECISION TO HAVE TERROR TRIALS IN NYC: ‘WE WERE NOT CONSULTED’.”
But the best news was their request that I submit items like this before publishing it myself, so they have first crack at it. In other words, “BigG” would rather publish items themselves, in their entirely, rather than just link to them.
So, will Drudge be next? Andrew Breitbart often selects the headlines and stories at DrudgeReport.com, so if he reads it and decides the piece is of sufficient quality, credibility and timeliness, I think it has a good chance. Keep your fingers crossed for me, fellow FReepers!
