Sarah PAC, the political action committee of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, collected $1.4 million over the final six months of 2009, a solid -- if not spectacular -- total that demonstrates her fundraising capacity as she mulls a bid for national office in 2012.
"We are thrilled," said Palin senior adviser Meg Stapleton about the fundraising total. "Common sense Americans know the direction we need to take this country and that Sarah Palin will be instrumental in taking us there this year."
For the year, Palin raised roughly $2.1 million through Sarah PAC and ended the year with $900,000 in the bank. She donated $64,600 to candidates and party committees.
That relatively high burn rate is due to an expansion of the organization's staff, according to those familiar with its operations. (Remember that with Palin out of office -- she resigned the governorship in July 2009 -- her PAC is her only political and policy vehicle.)

Not bad for someone who did very little in the way of active fundraising. TPaw raised $1.3 million in just 90 days. A lot of inside the beltway money coming his way, it looks like they might be getting ready to dump Mitt, and go with Tim instead. When Tim falters they’ll jump to Thune or Daniels. They’ll play the Anyone But Palin game to the end. This may not be bad for Palin, she will be able to rightfully claim complete outsider status, which will appeal to a lot of independent voters since she won’t be beholding to anyone.
Can you cite the the $10 grand to Kasich? I thought the pac was limited to something just under $5 grand and that was why McCain/Graham had to return a portion.
“I’m sure not sending her anymore money when there’s a chance it might end up being given to McCain.”
I’ll put in that extra $5 to cover the loss of your donation.
McCain doesn’t need her money. He has a warchest big enough to defeat anyone even the top receipiant of funds from Jack Abramhoff JD Hayworth.
(((PING)))
Fine...give your money to Romney then.
Yawn.
They’re both raising a lot of money for the GOP, and that’s a very good thing.
Romney has big money connections. It isn’t surprising he raised so much. Sarah will defeat Mitt the father of Romneycare.
As long as one of is McCain's. If not I will not send her money.
Big deal. Your guy better worry about why the Beltway is shifting their support to Pawlenty, who outraised Mittens significantly for 2H ‘09, in just 3 months.
I actually read the article. Sarah didn’t even send out a flier...lol.
American idol auditions
LOL. Beltway soup o’ the day. Judging by the MSM pimping, Thune is up next.
Remember the reports SarahPAC raised almost $200,000 in the two or three weeks AFTER Sarah stepped down.
So you’re saying THIS is the last we’ll hear from Sarah.
Senator-ELECT Scott Brown made sure to thank Mitt Romney for his help!
So much has happened in the interim, I can't say that I remember.
Here ya go

Kasich, a former Republican congressman, Wall Street executive and Fox News personality, raised $5 million in 2009, the bulk of it in the last six months. Kasich, who officially announced his candidacy on June 1, has $4 million on hand. Each received tens of thousands of dollars from their respective state and county parties. Also, dozens of corporate executives, lawyers and developers and others contributed at least $10,000.
Strickland’s donors included many unions. Kasich received $10,000 from former GOP vice president Sarah Palin’s political action committee.
The reports were filed Friday with the Secretary of State’s office.
