Lech Walesa: "America is Moving Towards Socialism"
BigGovernment.com ^ | Jan. 31 2010 | Andrew Marcus

On Friday, January 29th, 2010, Lech Walesa, former President of Poland, traveled to Chicago to endorse Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate, Adam Andrzejewski.

We were fortunate enough to have an opportunity to sit down with the President and Mr. Andrzejewski. Our video from that visit is below.

Items that stand out: 1) Lech Walesa tells his American Audience that the United States no longer leads the world politically or morally 2) At least one of your Founding Bloggers asks President Walesa if he thinks America is slipping toward Socialism. His Answer? Yes! 3) Andrzejewski is running on a platform of forensically auditing Illinois’ books and exposing corruption by making the details of the audit available to the public.

Lech’s wrong, we're not moving towards socialism, we're moving straight ahead to communism!

I think you are correct. By the way, what is up with zero's approval index? Unbelievable - he goes to OH and bashes the banking industry in front of his supporting unions and then delivers what should be considered to be the worst STOU speech by any Pres and his polls climb amazingly. Many in America are still drinking koolaid. Back up to minus 7

Only a basket of rocks, or a Dem voter, could fail to recognize the Obama Regime’s race to create a Socialist Fascist America.

Shhh, we aren’t supposed to USE that word. It is a loaded term and yadda yadda yadda.

Last year when Barack got tired of trying to claim that his plan ISN’T Socialist, started making statements like “They tell me that my proposal is socialist and then say ‘but don’t touch my medicaid or social security’”.

The pot is being brought to a boil and the frogs aren’t supposed to worry.

In the past few day's, bammie has come out and said he is not a Bolshevik, communist or socialist.

Then why does he have SO MANY Che loving Mao quoting Marxists in his administration and running his campaign offices?

There are elected Democrats who compared Republicans to Nazis (using the word NAZI) and fascists. No evidence to support those claims.

But then, the Left has done a lot to try to push the notion that Communism and Fascism are polar opposites (when they are not).

In the past few day's, bammie has come out and said he is not a Bolshevik, communist or socialist. This is the "do it out in the open and deny it" strategy, attempting to take away the impact of the words.

But he didn't deny being Islamic.

Actually, IIIRC he covered that a while back when he claimed to be Christian.

Now anytime someone brings up his mooslimb roots it is mocked, now when anyone brings up socialist/communist/bolshevick, it can be mocked as well because he got out in front of it.

Nothing more than a manipulative strategy, IMO

Republic lost? Not so much. Not as long as the ideal lives on in the minds and hearts of so many Americans. Do you realize the original American revolution was conducted by a relative minority of concerned, informed citizens? They paid dearly for their courage, but ultimately their vision overtook the status quo and became the benchmark of a free society. No, until that vision dies out entirely from the people, there will be a Republic, and one well worth fighting for. The love of freedom, once born, is very hard to kill.

I always call him Andy too. But technically, he’s Adam.

As for executive orders, well and good, considering the emergency he will face on taking office. But I think he should reconsider. One major problem we now have is an almost complete breakdown of constitutional roles, and overuse or misuse of the executive order does not draw us back to a more constitutionally constrained government.

Can someone point out the Constitutional remedy for this usurpation of powers?

Which branch of government is responsible to stop it?

In view of the Democratic authoritarian control over two of the three branches - what is to prevent BO from instituting martial law, a suspension of civil rights and confiscation of private property?

Are the States’ governors rendered impotent if their National Guard militia are already commissioned in Afghanistan?

I think using EOs early and often is a good thing; it will get Madigan’s attention!

He shouldn’t have revealed that strategy -at all- in his campaign, tho.

I say the republic is lost because we are operating almost without reference to the constitution which means we are more akin to the “representative democracy” that is the PC term lately. The current thinking of the democrats is that whatever the congressional majority okays is legal so maybe we shouldn’t even call it a representative democracy. It is probably more of an oligarchy already. Our government is certainly not functioning as a constitutional republic at this time. A realistic interpretation of the constitution would require that the bulk of the federal government shut down immediately.

“...Lech Walesa recognizes the Dem and the ‘O’ plans for what they are...”

When you live under the stench of communists for any length of time, you recognize the hogsh*t smell whenever you get close to them.

He knows. So do the Czechs. And so do the Ukrainians...

LFOD, brother.

He's close, but here is Pravada's take:

"It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people....The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama... America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe..."

American capitalism gone with a whimper

OK, its not that I disagree that things are bad right now, but using a term like “lost” suggests a permanent state of unrecoverable demise, and that it is that to which I object. Think about it. If a marriage were only deemed viable if both parties were equally perfect in carrying out their marital vows, there would be not one viable marriage anywhere. There is a wide gap between an imperfect relationship and full divorce. The one bears the hope of recovery; the other a dismal resignation to a lost future. As long as there are people who will work to rebuild the constitutional defenses to our liberty, one brick at a time if necessary, it is neither helpful nor accurate to speak of our great national heritage as lost, particularly at that very moment in which we appear to be rediscovering it.
