PHOENIX Republican Sen.-elect Scott Brown of Massachusetts has recorded a robocall message for John McCains re-election campaign in Arizona.
Brown made the recording a day or two after his Jan. 19 victory over Democrat Martha Coakley. The four-term senator from Arizona endorsed Brown in the race for the Senate seat held previous by the late Edward Kennedy.
McCain spokeswoman Brooke Buchanan said Brown has offered to help the Arizona senator in his campaign.
In the message, Brown introduces himself as the newly elected senator from Massachusetts and says that McCain supported him when few people thought he could win. He encouraged callers to support McCain.
The robocall message was played to Arizona callers last week.
"Scott Brown has long admired Senator McCains independent spirit and record of public service," said Felix Browne, a spokesman for Scott Browns campaign. "He has described Sen. McCain as one of his political heroes and was grateful to count Sen. McCain among his earliest supporters."
McCain faces Minuteman Civil Defense Corps co-founder Chris Simcox in the Republican primary. Former U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth is planning to join the Republican field, though he hasnt formally announced his candidacy.
Rodolfo "Rudy" Garcia of Tucson, a former city councilman in Bell Gardens, Calif., is the only Democrat who has officially entered the race. Tucson City Councilman Rodney Glassman, a Democrat, has formed an exploratory committee, but hasnt yet made a formal announcement.
McCain has never lost a statewide election in Arizona.
He won his last two re-election races with more than two-thirds of the vote, and easily carried his home state in the 2008 presidential election with 54 percent of the vote.

U.S. Rep. J.D.Hayworth (R-AZ)
Rep.J.D. Hayworth the largest single recipient of Abramoff related money and co-chairman of the Congressional Native American Caucus, has received more than $150,000 from Indian tribes once represented by Abramoff.
John McCain on Abramhoff
“Even in this town, where huge sums are routinely paid as the price of political access, the figures are astonishing.”
I’ll still take him over McCain!!!
Scott Brown might want to wait until Arizona voters no longer ask “Scott who?” before getting himself on tape boosting Juan McCain.
McCain is POS who gave us McCain Feingold which helped elect a Dem Congress and Obama. Anyone but McCain.
Great! First I lose respect for Palin and Brown turns out to be a pod person too. I’m glad I’m only out $10 to Sara’s PAC.
Even that won’t help McCain.
Sounds criminal. What was JD charged with?
I hear JD Hayworth took regular vacations to Charles Keating’s home in the Bahamas and didn’t pay a anything for them until years after the fact...
Oh wait... wrong Arizona politician. My bad, my friends.
VOTE OUT ZERO’S RINGER, CAP’N STRAWBERRIES McCAIN !
GO J.D. HAYWORTH !
Being Juan’s Conservative challenger.
Ya, I’ve tried to tell Palin that supporting McLame anit Rogue, but I don’t think she was listening. McLame cashing in his chips makes everyone else look bad, he’s such a poser, if he had any real honor, he’d drop his reelection bid and go love on his grandkids or sumthin...
Sarah’s PAC is giving the mother’s milk of politics to the right campaigns. Keep forking out those ten dollar bills.
So, when McLame loses his seat, what’s next for Scott Brown???
“Rep.J.D. Hayworth the largest single recipient of Abramoff related money and co-chairman of the Congressional Native American Caucus, has received more than $150,000 from Indian tribes once represented by Abramoff. “
Last time I’m asking...PROVE this statement that you keep spreading on this forum or stop posting it. At some point this McCAin/Hayworth disinformation campaign on FR MUST stop!
First George Bush was the biggest recipient of Abramoff $$$
Abramoff raised over a Million $$ for Bush.

MCCain has gotten more INDIAN money than ANYONE.
Facts don’t phase Maelstrom. He/she/it has been shown these are lies over and over, yet here it is again. John McCain must LOVE you! Repeat a lie often enough is the game here. Some of us actually change our minds when presented with the truth, but not Maelstrom. Obviously facts are not as important as keeping the GOP leaning to the left.
ONE MORE TIME.
Indians, Lobbyists and Arizona Politics...OH MY!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2440173/posts
[snip]The scene is the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut . The year 2000. The congressman has $100 chips stacked high, having a grand time at the crap table. He likes to gamble and isnt afraid to show some temper when he loses. Along for the ride are his campaign manager and one of the two biggest lobbyist handing out campaign money from various Indian tribes who was also a 20 year friend of the legislator.
By now weve all heard about the money J.D. Hayworth received from an Indian tribe by way of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, who was one of the two big boys in Indian tribe money lobbying.
Pot, meet Kettle....
However, it was not J.D. Hayworth, nor Jack Abramoff at the crap table. It was Senator John McCain, campaign manager and Indian lobbyist in his own right, Rick Davis, along with Scott Reed, now the one remaining big time lobbyist handling the tribes and their money.
National Review wrote:
That would be this New York Times story, describing McCain playing the craps table with Rick Davis and Scott Reed. Davis is a longtime McCain friend and associate, currently his campaign manager, who runs a lobbying firm that represented Indian tribes with casino interests. Reed also worked as a lobbyist for Indian tribes, but he was also Bob Doles campaign manager in 1996, where McCain is a top surrogate
Another article further describes the scene.
McCain was betting at a casino he oversaw as a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, and he was doing so with the lobbyist who represents that casino.
The visit had been arranged by the lobbyist, Scott Reed, who works for the Mashantucket Pequots, a tribe that has contributed heavily to McCains campaigns and built Foxwoods into the worlds second-largest casino. Joining them was Rick Davis, McCains campaign manager. Their night of good fortune epitomized not just McCains affection for gambling, but also the close relationship he has built with the gambling industry and its lobbyists during his 25-year career in Congress.
As a two-time chairman of the Indian Affairs Committee, McCain has done more than any other member of Congress to shape the laws governing Americas casinos, helping to transform the once-sleepy Indian gambling business into a $26-billion-a-year behemoth with 423 casinos across the country.
As factions of the ferociously competitive gambling industry have vied for an edge, they have found it advantageous to cultivate a relationship with McCain or hire someone who has one, according to an examination based on more than 70 interviews and thousands of pages of documents.
McCain portrays himself as a Washington maverick unswayed by special interests, referring recently to lobbyists as birds of prey. Yet in his current campaign, more than 40 fund-raisers and top advisers have lobbied or worked for an array of gambling interests - including tribal and Las Vegas casinos, lottery companies, and online poker purveyors.
When rules being considered by Congress threatened a California tribes planned casino in 2005, McCain helped spare the tribe. Its lobbyist, who had no prior experience in the gambling industry, had a nearly 20-year friendship with McCain.
Hayworths explanation of the Abramoff contribution is spelled out by him here. Hayworth got direct contributions of $2,250 from Abramoff, which was donated to charity, Hurricane Katrina relief. The Indian tribe in question insisted the money they gave by way of Abramoff be kept by Hayworth.
Hayworths exoneration of any criminal charges, by the US Dept. of Justice is in a letter from them here.
The McCain campaign is trying to use this non issue to destroy Hayworth, while indulging in bigger tribe money and underhanded backroom deals far surpassing anything Jack Abramoff pulled.
McCain has been chair of the Indian affairs committee since 2005, having served on it for many years prior. He used this position to bring down Abramoff, who was second only to handing out tribe dollars to McCains man Scott Reed. Some have speculated the move was not so much to rid politics of the likes of Abramoff, but to gain a monopoly on tribe campaign dollars. Theres even a book, The Perfect Villain: John McCain and the Demonization of Jack Abramoff speculating McCains motives.
Go JD!
McCain is like a cancer infecting everything it touches.
uh Oh.... did Scott Brown trade in his pickup truck over the weekend? Don’t like that McCain is getting both palin and Brown to plug for him. He’s a DC insider RINO in desperate need of retirement.
