Election 2010: Texas Republican Primary for Governor (Perry 44%, Hutchison 29%, Medina 16%)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 2-2-10 | Scotte Rasmussen

Posted on 02/02/2010 3:14:53 PM PST by icwhatudo

Incumbent Rick Perry's lead over Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has grown a little bigger in the race for this year's Republican gubernatorial nomination in Texas. Tea Party activist Debra Medina also has gained ground, and her gains appear to come at the expense of Hutchison.

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey of likely Republican Primary voters in Texas finds Perry leading Hutchison 44% to 29%, with Medina at 16%.

Medina has gained four points since the previous survey while Hutchison has lost four points. Perry's support is little changed from a month ago.

You’ve got that right. The NAFTA super highway pusher v. the People. Let’s hope Medina can light a fire with the electorate in time to oust these RINOs.

I saw the very first Debra Medina campaign sign today in the Southlake/Keller area. I had to smile.

I’ve seen Perry signs and his voter registration people but never Medina people. Was/is she that invovled with the tea party groups.

28 days and we’ll know the outcome.

Well, so much for the theory that Medina would take points from Perry thus giving KBH the governorship.

Guess that explains why a muslim ( Farouk Shami) on the democratic side is a billionaire from selling haircare products.

Perry and Kay B are his biggest customers.

Perry is no RINO, if you want to call someone a RINO look at those two ladies from Maine.Keep talking about a super highway that was never built and will never be built. Perry WILL win the election, it is time to get over it, Medina does not have the support at this time. Perry has been good for Texas and we have a 9 billion dollar surplus, he is not a spend thrift.GO PERRY!!!!!

“Perry is no RINO”

“Perry is no RINO”

Let me count the ways, off the top of my head:

Democrat until 1989
Texas Enterprise Fund – [Perry idea to spend tax dollars, more power for government]
Perry Business Tax – very harmful
Disregard for parent’s and individuals rights – that’s unacceptable
Opposed conservative judge Steve Smith and replaced with a liberal
Weak on immigration, waiting for the Feds to tax and spend to fix the border
Signed the hate bills crime [squelching free speech]
Supports No Child Left Behind – big gov
Supported Security and Prosperity Partnership – big gov
Removed Texan’s property to hand over to foreign entities to toll us
Attempted to give even more property to private entities
Attended 2007 Bilderberg group meeting in Istanbul, Turkey – [the secret reason he was invited was because he was assisting globalists with the takeover of Texas highways]

If these numbers hold, Kaye Bailey won’t resign her Senate seat unless she wins the primary.

Wasn’t she originally going to resign last fall to run for governor but moved the date to later this spring?

Adding a couple more to your Rino points.....

1984... Texas State Coordinator Mondale for President

1988... Texas State Coordinator Al Gore for President

** Forced innoculations of 11/12 year old girls with Gardasil

How is he going to deal with the budget short fall that is coming for 2011? He got spared this time with the $12 billion in stimulus money.

I’m kinda leaning toward Kay Bailey for three reasons.

#1 - In Texas, the Governor’s job is really titular rather than actually powerful.

#2 - We have a decent Lt. Governor and Speaker of the House (who both set the legislative agenda for the State Senate and State House, respectively) to keep her in check.

#3 - It gets her out of the Senate and we can get a decent senator to replace her (can anyone say “Medina”?).

According to a Rasmussen Reports general election survey, Democratic ex-mayor Bill White would trail both Kay Bailey Hutchison and Rick Perry in the Texas gubernatorial election if either one were to win the GOP primary. However, if Debra Medina were to win the GOP primary for Texas governor and then have to face Bill White in a one-on-one election match-up, Bill White would win.

The biggest RINO is a Libertarian running as a Republican and causing a split in the conservative vote. Ron Paul will not run as a Libertarian because he can't get elected and neither will Medina
