President Obama urged Democrats not to be defeatist about the loss of their supermajority in the Senate, declaring: If anyone is searching for a lesson from Massachusetts, I promise you, the answer is not to do nothing.
In an appearance today at a retreat for Senate Democrats, the president reminded his former colleagues that they still held one of the partys largest majorities in Senate history. While he implored Congress to press forward on health care legislation, he said initiatives to create jobs should also take priority.
Mr. Obama sought to lift the spirits of Democrats who are facing a difficult political climate in this midterm election year. But he warned against retreating from pursuing their priorities, saying: I think the natural political instinct is to tread lightly, keep your head down and to play it safe.

Odumbo: “yea, see...ah....this ah...plank is ..ah...ah..only 10 feet long....see..ah...you don’t...haf to...ah....walk dat farrrr...ah....”
Mr. Obama is simply chock full of good advice, isn’t he?
God willing, they will all be voted out thanks to the Zero plague.
Hell of an idea. All the dimrat pols should follow obama no matter what. Vote for all his proposals. Blindly follow the kenyan boy king. You will be politically protected. Your constituants will welcome you like returning heros.
Hey, now. A gay Marxist coke whore from Kenya doesn’t get to be President Of The United States by playing it safe.
Some of these Democrats have been holding down seats since the Washington Senators were still around losing 90 games a season. Why would they ever take political advice from a 143-day wonder like Barry?
Just vote them OUT!!
Actually, I think the Democrats have reached the state of ‘D@mned if you, d@mned if you don’t.”
If they don’t go on with the looting and destruction of this country they lose their base - ACORN, SEUI, NEA, commie-pinko country-clubbers, looters, Soros, etc.
If they proceed, they lose the “moderates” (who are finally beginning to pay attention).
Unfortunately, in those circumstances, the only thing you can do is forge ahead and hope you screw up for the incoming administration. So hang on tight. This ride isn’t nearly over.
One of the most liberal guys I work with just said he wishes he could slap 0bama. If this guy feels like that then the wheels are off the wagon!
He’s trying to throw all of them under the bus.
Yes, its ok to run off the cliff becasue I say so.......Jack Squat idiot.
I think the natural political instinct is to tread lightly, keep your head down and to play it safe.
...Don’t “tread” on me, Mo Fo!
Actually, I think the Democrats have reached the state of D@mned if you, d@mned if you dont.
I partially agree, but remember there are a few long term Senators and congressmen who really like the cocktail circuit in DC and are loath to return to their home states as a private citizen. My guess is it only take 2 or 3 Senators to say no and the thing is finished. My real guess is 2 or 3 Senators have already said no privately and bammy is doing the last act of Othelo for his next autobiography. Remember, this is what he does, writes about himself (or has others write about him). Just sayin.
Obama now: “Damn the electorate, full speed ahead.”
Electorate this Nov.: “Sink Obama was the battle cry that shook the seven seas”
“Even the things he supposedly has done, like write two fictional accounts of his life, were in fact done by other people.”
