No. 1 economic problem: Not enough babies

On "Forbes on Fox" on Jan. 30, 2010, the discussion turned to how population is affecting the U.S. economy. The panelists and Steve Forbes agreed that the USA needs more babies.

The No. 1 variable affecting our economy today is the decision by our government, from the late 1960s to 1985, to promote zero-population growth, with the number of births decreasing. The birthrate fell from 2.3 children per family to 1.3 at times. To maintain a population, a birthrate of 2.1 children is required. That decreased birthrate has impacted everything from demand for products to health-care costs to relaxed immigration laws and Social Security shortfalls.

As of 2008, the number of people between the ages of 40 and 55 has been decreasing as a percent of the total population. It is not a coincidence that the economy took a dive in 2008. This age group has the highest impact on the economy and is at its highest income. It is consuming the most products. This age group lives in big houses that require lots of furniture. They buy additional cars. They pay the most taxes. Their children are teenagers and college students with big consumption. So as this group is decreasing, so is the economy. And this age group will not increase again until 2022.

The top supporter of abortion is Barack Obama. He even supports partial-birth abortion and infanticide. And he wants no restrictions on abortion of any kind while he promotes more government intervention to correct the problems from zero-population growth that liberal government caused.

It is stupid to think that programs from those very liberals who caused zero-population growth (actually it was negative population growth) are going to correct the problems to the economy and health care.

Government intervention caused the problem; more government intervention will not solve the problem.

Either have more babies or destroy more liberals. Either will help the economy but I prefer the latter solution. Why bring a child into this corrupt society?

Well it’s about time that this come up for discussion. I have been harping about the demographic and economic catastrophe caused by abortion for years now.

And the only Western country that has gotten out in front of this demographic problem is France where a family of 3 children or more pay zero tax.

Partly true.

Full truth: Not enough babies FROM THE RIGHT PEOPLE.

Despite the fact that libs support abortion, the most fertile (in a children-per-woman sense) demographics are low-income minorities who the Democrats reel in from a young age.

Think that part of it is due to people having fewer children... or not at all.

It is probably due to more prosperity and reproductive rights for women. More birth control vs abortion.

Instead of having children, we are importing foreigners. Yipee. We get a new underclass for the exta hundred million.

Leave it to the liberals to start Medicare and Social Security, and then kill 50 million of the unborn children who would pay for it later on.

The book “America Alone” by Mark Steyn has a good discussion on population. Recommended reading.

50 million abortions of which there would have been at least 25 million children from the aborted for a total of 75 million Americans not here with us today.

It’s not the number of babies, it’s the non-PC rule of the ‘Quality’ of the babies.

Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and successful married couples, may (emphasis on ‘may’) decide to raise a couple kids. Genetically speaking, the prime genetic parents are replacing themselves - while the uneducated, lazy and generally inferior specimens are reproducing like flies.

In layman terms, the inmates are reproducing faster than the Wardens.

Parents who have no value on education, personal achievement, assuming personal responsibility, respect for others and a drive to better themselves - will tend to produce children who have no desire to achieve, become self-sufficient and will demand that everyone give them their due ‘entitlements’.

Thank you Liberals, your values have doomed us and our children.

One of the big problems of Rome was the lack of native born children, and it’s going to be our big problem, too. Our birthrate is still higher than that of most European countries, but it’s dropping.

i’v done my part. I have three kids. I asked my hubby if he was sure he didn’t want another one(ours are already 12,14,16)

it came down to this...not enough money. we have raised, beautiful, smart, conservative kids. I’d love to make more. but who the heck can afford it? our house is not big enough and we have three kids to help put through college.

Quality. Yep, let all the ‘inferior’ stop having kids... say, let’s just sterilize them (ala Buck case, Sanger, or Holdren/Zeke Emanuel/Dash recently); Hitler sure learned a lot from us; Sounds very Cold Spring Harbor, eugenics wise.
Then of course you get migration (legal or not), goodbye culture.

Many dictators thought doctors, lawyers, engineers and professors had to go...

If you kill one, you’ll kill another. Socialists don’t learn from history, they just think it wasn’t done enough.

“The Aborted Generation” is seriously hampering our efforts to win the War on Terror, plus maintain our global military presence—just not enough 18 year old soldiers any more.

“The Aborted Generation” is the root cause of the Social Security/Medicare/Pension crisies looming on the horizon—just not enough 18 year old workers any more.

“The Aborted Generation” is the reason why colleges and univesities are now emphasizing “lifelong learning” and States are mandating “continuing education” for more and more licensed professions—just not enough 18 year old freshmen any more.
