Palin making ka-ching she can believe in (DOPEY ALL WEE-WEE'D UP, WARNS CONSERVATIVES)

Can her fans really relate to quitting job, making millions?

It was nearly a year ago when I first saw "How's that Hope and Change Working Out For You?" on a bumper sticker.

As I said at the time, that's maybe the most cynical slogan of the century.

Of course it's legit to criticize President Obama and his policies, but there's something so snarky about that phrase -- as if to say, "You don't have a job? You're still without health care? Obama wasn't able to heal the sick, change water into wine, bring peace and harmony to the world? Hahahaha! How's that hope and change working out for you, SUCKER!"

Now we have Sarah Palin bringing her rodeo act to the Tea Party Convention in Nashville and cracking, "How's that hopey, changey stuff workin' out?"

Groan. Did she write that on her palm?

If you're in the audience and you hear that, how can you not feel as if your intelligence is being insulted? There's Sarah Palin, who walked away from her duties as governor so she could reap millions from a book and promote it with a rock-star bus tour, get a lucrative gig on Fox News, command six-figure speaking fees, charge In Touch magazine a hundred grand for a cover story -- and she's sayin' she can relate to the downtrodden and the disenfranchised? Give me a big fat break.

How's that hopey/changey stuff workin' out? Not so great for a lot of people -- but for Sarah Palin, quitting elected office and ripping on the hopey/changey stuff is working like a million dollar charm, baby.

*Programming note: Any time I criticize Palin, I hear from conservatives who ask, "Why are you so afraid of her?"

Huh? I'm not afraid of her. I just fear for any populace who would swallow her cynical, shallow act without questioning it.

Apparently, this movie reviewer doesn't want any conservative questioning his political acumen.

Well, there is a choice. Dope and chains the Obama way, or hope and change the Palin way.

She donated the speaking fee so she did not make any money on the appearance. She had 17 ethics suits against her that she beat all of them except that she had to pay her defense.

Sure he's afraid. He's afraid of us peasants rising up with our pitchforks and demanding that our government go by the Constitution and not there own self important agenda's.

The media elite really do think they are smarter than everyone else don't they?

Relax Dopey, she's back in Alaska today but she'll be at the Daytona 500 this weekend. Rest up.

“I just fear for any populace who would swallow her cynical, shallow act without questioning it.” - from the aritcle. “Shallow act” would be most, if not all, what is printed in the writer’s own newspaper. So, how’s that hope and change working for ya, bub? Reconsidering your vote, yet?

Dear Chicago Tribune, get used to hearing the phrase “hows that hopey-changy thing working for you.” I believe you will hear this refrain quite a lot for the next 9 months. And, oh yeah, it is an objective question to ask by citizens. Serfs, peasants and slaves should keep their mouth shut though.

If the choice is between Obama or Palin, can we have a third option, please? I fear for the nation with either as president.

I just fear for any populace who would swallow her cynical, shallow act without questioning it.

As opposed to a "community organizer" who conned his way into the highest office in the land based on empty slogans, flattering lies and hollow promises?

Most of us have seen what Sarah has accomplished for Alaska and would like to give her a chance to do the same nationwide.

Zer0's worshipers can't point to one thing he's accomplished for his constituents unless it involved looting the public treasury.

But he doesn't fear for the illiterate voters who swallowed Obama's unicorns and ponies act without questioning it?

What is it with Chicago-based film critics that makes them think they are qualified to be published as commentators on the political scene?

All Obama ran on was “Hope” and “Change”.

What else are we supposed to relate?

“There’s Sarah Palin, who walked away from her duties as governor...”

Even though she was wasting all her time countering lawsuits, she should’ve followed Clinton’s example - when he had a lawsuit on his plate (granted, it was legitimate, and not frivolous, as was the case with Palin’s), he hired 50 lawyers and spent his time with them fighting in the courts.

Of course, all that time he was covering his *ss, al Qaeda was busy figuring out how to run planes into buildings, but don’t let anyone say Bubba was derelict by concentrating on his legal problems rather than his oath of office.

At least he didn’t walk away from the Presidency, right, Mr. Roeper?

But swallowing chants of "Yes We Can" without questioning the credentials of the person leading the chant doesn't give this author any cause for fear? Watching millions follow an empty suit with a ripped off Pepsi logo, fake Presidential seals, and phony Greek columns scared the crap out of me!

I hope the majority of the dopey college kids have woken up since they can't find jobs despite the promises of the "one."

He’s projecting.

We don’t worship our leaders, they represent us.

They do set up their leaders as demigods.
