Snuff Civilization ( moonbat alert )
Alternatives Magazine ^ | Derrick Jensen

Posted on 02/18/2010 6:46:27 AM PST by Halfmanhalfamazing

Had somebody snuffed civilization in its multiple cradles, the Middle East would probably still be forested, as would Greece, Italy, and North Africa. Lions would probably still patrol southern Europe. The peoples of the region would quite possibly still live in traditional communal ways, and thus would be capable of feeding themselves in a still-fecund landscape.

Fast forward a few hundred years and we can say the same in Europe. Somehow stop the Greeks and Romans, and the indigenous people of Gaul, Spain, Germany probably still survive. Wolves might howl in England. Great auks might nest in France, providing year-round food for the humans who live there.

Salmon might run in more than token numbers up the Seine. The Rhine is almost undoubtedly clean. The continent is forested. Many of the cultures are matrifocal. Many are peaceful.

Had someone brought down civilization before 1492, the Arawaks would probably still live peacefully in the Caribbean. Indians would live in ancient forests all along the Eastern seaboard, along with bison, marten, fisher. North, Central, and South America would be ecologically and culturally intact. The people would probably have, as always, plenty to eat.

Had someone brought down civilization before the slave trade took hold, 100 million Africans would not have been sacrificed on that particular altar of economic production. Native cultures might still live untraumatized on their own land all across that continent. There probably would be, as there always was, plenty to eat.

De-evolution — You have a right to die off. Those that don't are on a journey to pre-Bronze Age times.

Read Tom Clancy’s ‘Rainbow Six’. The ending is pure poetic justice!

Dear Derrick: Please, make your contribution to the cleansing of Gaia by either throwing yourself off a convenient cliff or simply walking out into the winter and dying of exposure. In any case, please make sure to remove all non-biodegradable objects from your person before your death, and don’t end yourself by sucking on a .45, as gunpowder can cause global warming.

“Environmentalists” rarely if ever know the basics of ecology. Most of them are morons. The rest of them, the ones with biology/geology/etc degrees, are far more dangerous. The know their stuff but will simply lie in order to achieve their insidious goal of snuffing out unwanted persons. The morons are the foot-soldiers and the devils lead them.

We have an enemy, and he hates us. He has blinded and confused many of those beings that he hates into doing his bidding, and feeling good about themselves while doing it.
Tagline.

And the average life span would still be 30. Speaking as a 41 year old I am all for civilization.

What an idiot this guy is. Sure, if civilization had never been established, tiny pockets of hunter-gatherer peoples would still range through their original territories, and the cedars of Lebanon would still stand, but those same people would look forward to a ripe old age in their 40s, and 25% infant mortality rates, and dying from myriad infections. Their wives would die in childbirth an alarming percentage of the time, and husbands would not come home again 25% of the time.

We don’t live on Coruscant (yet), but pining (heh) for the days when forests stretched from horizon to horizon no matter where you stood on earth and everyone lived in miserable squalor in mud or hide huts is useless intellectual masturbation.

Funny that you mention "rainbow." Years ago I was drifting around, and wound up at a national "Rainbow Convention". Thousands of hippies in the woods. I did a lot of observing and note-taking. What I gleened was that these folks think we can actually return to Eden, if only we resort to a primitive, subsistence lifestyle. I summed it up in my notes at the time as a "guilt-driven, third world fantasy."

Anyone who has studied history or human nature understands these are delusions. They are anti-progress, as if we have a choice in the matter.

Bingo. They want a world devoid of humans but don’t have the guts to make a personal contribution to the process.

Ah, but it’s getting rid of the right kind of people that’s important. Stone-age Arawaks good. Technically advanced Europeans bad.

Reminds me of the last conversation I had with the date of a friend in Santa Fe. She: “We have been so evil. We’ve stolen their lands, killed their buffalo, and destroyed their sacred grounds....” Me: “No problem. Find the deed to your house. Give it to the nearest Indian, and return to Europe. If you’re not willing to do that, then STFU.” Apparently it worked, because she didn’t say another word to me the rest of the night. :)

My response to people like this is to encourage them to quit talking and take the first step. If they’re not willing to off themselves, then they truly don’t believe in their cause. If they stumble and mumble about it, then I say that, like typical tyrants/leftists/liberals, they always want someone else to do the heavy lifting for them.

It is both funny and disturbing how the “progressives” want to destroy progress. Their dream is a small, technologically primitive society devoid of moral values outside of nature worship.

Ahh I should have said that. I had an encounter with an anti-white anti-America anti-human anti-everything-except-himself moonbat so insane he thought Rachel Maddow was only just liberal enough for him. Probably wouldn’t have registered in his thick skull though..

Yeah. It sucks when liberals don't talk to you. It leaves so little reason to laugh out loud.

I had a liberal whine about the buffalo and the "white man's slaughter" thereof.

I had to remind this idiot that the "noble people" did the same thing, and that these same "noble people" managed to wipe out many a species of land animal in their quest to be "one with nature." Horses, and/or their close relatives, come to mind.
