NOTE: Photo included.

SNIPPET: "On Jan. 18, Lachlan Cranswick left the Chalk River nuclear facility, where he worked, and took a bus to Deep River, the small town on the Ottawa River where he lived.

The 41-year-old physicist, whose job entailed running experiments for the National Research Council, had just finished some work for a researcher overseas and left his findings on his desk, to be mailed later.

Sometime that night or the next morning, he took his garbage bins outside for pickup.

Then, he vanished without a trace.

When he didn't show up for work for several days and missed a game with the local curling club, of which he was a devoted member, his friends went looking for him."

Faris said Cranswick is known as a well-organized, regimented man who would be unlikely to take a spontaneous trip without telling anyone. He also points to the work left unmailed on the scientist's desk as evidence he wasn't planning to leave.

They said the same thing about Bilbo, until Gandalf showed up with a gang of dwarves; then he took off, willy-nilly, without even his pocket handkerchief.

Leads exhausted in missing scientist case - police

After spending more than a month searching for a missing Deep River, Ont. scientist, Ontario Provincial Police say they have done everything they can to track him down, but have exhausted all the possible leads.

Lachlan Cranswick vanished on Jan. 18 after leaving work at the National Research Council's Canadian Neutron Beam Centre in Chalk River, and was reported missing a few days later when the avid curler failed to show up for a tournament.

Police searched the home of the 41-year-old and found his front door was unlocked. Inside, his wallet and passport were still there -- as well as his car. Authorities searched nearby trails thinking he may have gone for a walk, but his friends noted the safety-conscious scientist never strayed far without a GPS. They ended up finding no trace of him.

Colleagues say Cranswick, 41, did not appear to be depressed before he disappeared.

Sounds like he’d be really easy to grab. Regimented, always doing the same thing at the same time. Took out the trash as he always did, probably at the very same time he always did. Grabbed and gone. Probably never hear what happened to him.

Yes, prayer is good now.

There’s no indication that this scientist is deceased.

“Grabbed and gone. Probably never hear what happened to him.”

He made comments about being bored ... certain parties overhead these comments ... plans were made ... he was grabbed voluntarily and now resides at the secret US base station complex - at the stable Lagrange Point L2, 1.5 million miles away - with all the other missing scientists.

>>> "Is Lachlan another in the smiley face murders?" <<<

I think that all the Smiley Face Murders have occurred in the USA, and it's my impression that the victims were drinking. According to the homepage on his website, Mr. Cranswick doesn't drink alcohol.
