This should be a fun thread.
My favorites to date :
L-A (Pronounced, ladasha)
Kartoune (Cartoon ?)
I wanted to name our daughter “Taryn Skye” when she was born. My parents and husband talked me out of it. So she became “Taryn Elise.” If any kid has made her name her own, she has. She’s a wonderful, strong-willed, conservative, smart teen who goes her own way. I’m blessed to have such a great kid. :-)
I thought we’d hit bottom with:
Bunny Easter....a real sweet girl I knew.
Lucky Strike Burns
Spark Burns
Two brothers and the parents smoked a lot.
Twin boys in our church named after guns:
Spencer and Remington
BA
Wife is a teacher and she and I were discussing this very thing last night. She said the most unusual names on kids she has taught were:
- Conception
- Cinnamon
- Wednesday (who has a younger brother named Pugsly - I couldn’t make that up!)
- Marvelous (who was so far from being “marvelous” it ain’t even funny)
I will get charged with racism if any politically correct types are around, but, years ago, black people had the same “normal” names that everyone else did. Now many, not all, but many young black people have names that didn’t even exist many years ago.
Our 2 month old grand-nehew was named Denali. It means “I won’t be stuck in this little town for the rest of my life, I’m going places, people!” We’re thrilled with the name, as we’ve been there (as have his parents). Too bad I had to explain the meaning to ‘Nali’s grampa..but once he got it, he really GOT it!!
At least it’s not “Sharika”!
They always are.....now I'm going to cruise the balance of the posts to see how long before I come upon "Lemonjello".
Favorite Simpsons episode.
Bart calls Mo and asks for Amanda.
Amanda Hugankiss.
Mo: I need a mandahugankiss.
