Debra Medina, new star of America's right, is firing up the race for Texas governor
The Observer ^ | 2-28-10 | Paul Harris

Lytle is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of town, one of hundreds that dot the vast flat ranchlands of southern Texas. A smear of houses by the main highway between San Antonio and Laredo. Population: 2,383. The first streets only got paved here in the years after the second world war. A sewage system took a little longer, not being built until the 1960s. In short, Lytle, Texas, has never been big enough to have much impact on the politics of the Lone Star state. And few Texas politicians have ever paid much attention to it.

Not me, I am not that stupid.

Don't bet on it.

This is no different and too important an issue to pick a wishy washy “politician” who after this many years cannot make up their mind on their own and need their staffers to tell them their opinion.

That is nearly incoherent. After so many years of what? Medina has not been in politics long and if elected Governor will not be ruling the world.

I can't understand your emotional involvement in this little conversation.

My response was about not being there was directed at the issue with her parents.

Sorry if I misunderstood.

“To continue to repeat a falsehood does no credit to either of you or any others down the thread who may say the same.”

What’s the falsehood? For a person who’s running for Gov. of the State of Texas, it’s unfortunate that she has no grasp of the facts. She bolstered the wacky conspiracy fanatics with her answer to Beck. Fact: “she’s toast”.

What’s the falsehood?

The claim that Medina thinks the US government was involved in the planning and execution of 9-11.

You may not be able to write at that level but you can surely think at that level, and lower.

That’s exactly right. The entire truther conspiracy was hatched by the far left out of their hatred of all things Bush. Anyone who thinks the Bush administration somehow conspired or has to have more questions answered because its an open issue is a paranoid or has other motives. Both of which are characteristic of moonbats.

Personally I want every elected official unelected. Yeah we’ll lose a few good ones but I am so fed up with government I say, unelected EVERYONE. Now, the truther thing is, I think, over done. She gave a dumb answer but she did not say that gov was involved in the 911 attack. Far more troubling for me is the La Racca thing. I will not touch a candidate that has anything to do with La Racca.

Once again

Fellow Texans

THINK before you vote!

Are we so desperate to clean house of 'career politicians' that we jump on the bandwagon of Debra MEDINA, an unknown ex-nurse with zero experience, questionable judgement and loyalties and who worked on the RON PAUL presidential campaign???

Perry leans too far to the left at times for the taste of most of us, but consider this: Texas is in better shape than almost any other state in the union since it's been under Perry's governorship since 2000!

If we're going to kick him out, we'd better be D*MN sure we know just what we're replacing him with!

Just WHO would we replace him with?

Ron paul/truther nutter Medina?

Trecherous Washington RINO Hutchison?*

MUSLIM FAROUK SHAMI?

Or maybe Lib Bill White?

Nominate Medina and we'll surely turn over Texas to White and the 'rats. She CANNOT beat White.

Perhaps in the future a more Conservative candidate will emerge for Texas, but this time around WE HAVE NO CHOICE.

For God's sake, has anybody really looked into her platform- her background? Has this woman even been vetted?

She wants legalized drugs.

She backs gay marriage.

.

She has not spoken to her elderly parents for YEARS. They had to find out she was runing for governor of Texas by reading the newspaper!

http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/medina-hailing-from-beeville-learned-political-skills-on-229907.html?srcTrk=RTR_95609

What does this say about this woman's character?

And rumors are begin to surface about husband Noe's past associations.

Take a look at some of the statements she has made:

"I don't have all of the evidence there, Glenn. I think some very good questions have been raised. In that regard there's some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there." (When Glen Beck asked her about the 9/11 conspiracy theory)

"It’s a shame isn’t it, that Republicans continue to ignore Hispanics especially here in Texas?’

"Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family?”

"Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture.”

"I believe we too often get into race when it’s immaterial.” (Obummer, is that you?)

I don't believe for one minute Medina's propaganda about wanting to strengthen the border!

La Raza probably has her in their back pocket!

This idea that Beck (or anybody else) sabotaged Medina is absurd. If you can’t answer “did the govt have anything to do with the 9/11 attacks?” you're not be fit to run for dogcatcher.

Glenn Beck has once again helped the tea-party stay in the Republican mainstreamby by weeding out dangerous fringe thinkers like Medina.

Medina is NOT representative of the Tea Party movement. She USED them- latched herself on to them. She’s a hard core Libertarian who has realized that the Libertarian Party will never win anything and that the only possible way to get herself into office is to do what Ron Paul did and wrap herself in the Republican cloak in hopes that it will fool enough of the voters enough of the time. Thank God Glen Beck outed her in time.

Retrieve your sombrero from the ring and go home Senora Medina. You're Texas toast. . .

* REMEMBER THIS,TEXANS:

Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress

“One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchison’s amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.”

She lost me when Beck nailed her on the 9/11 conspiracy theory.

She lost me before that, when I found out she was a lockstep RonPaulbot. The truther comments were an affirmation of that.

These Ron Paul cultists are flat out strange. 911 is not the only conspiracy theory these people flock to. Also, in my discussions and debates with these types, there seems to be a common thread - all career politicians are evil (except for Ron Paul)...

Yes, I've had many conversations with Paulbots here on FR over the years, and I came up with this glossary:

Ron Paul Acolyte Glossary:

Neo-Con: Anybody who does not worship Ron Paul.

Statist: Anybody who does not worship Ron Paul.

Paul-Hater: Anybody who does not worship Ron Paul.

RINO: Any GOP candidate who is not Ron Paul.

Small-government conservative: This only applies to Ron Paul or Ron Paul disciples such as Debra Medina or Rand Paul. Nobody else is allowed to claim this.

Big-government supporter: Anybody who does not worship Ron Paul.

People who understand and support the Constitution: This only applies to Ron Paul or Ron Paul disciples such as Debra Medina or Rand Paul. Nobody else is allowed to claim this.

9/11: What the US deserved for refusing to roll over to Muslim terrorists in the Middle East.

Who crowned her the ‘tea party’ candidate. The loon former OBL truther doesn’t just get to say she is a tea party candidate. At our Tea Party yesterday there were two hippie looking college kids with Medina signs, everyone else seemed to be supporting Perry- all ages, all backgrounds.

So, in other words, this was a real Tea Party gathering that just had a couple of fringe interlopers show up. They were probably on orders from their leader, Ron Paul.

Never said “was involved” she has said could have been involved as per news services. Its my contention that she should have said there is no evidence that Bush or the administration were involved in 9/11. I supported her candidacy but after the Beck interview....I don’t see how she can win.

She is not a kook. At worst she had a political stumble.

We conservatives have shot ourselves in the foot many times by insisting on the perfect candidate, a perfect candidate that we still could not all agree on because what is perfect for one is unacceptable to another.

She will get my vote tomorrow but we can’t lose no matter who wins. We are selecting among winners on the Republican side. No Democrat is acceptable to me.

“And yes, I can ask for proof that a connection does not exist.”

You can ask . . .

Using your logic, Big foot, UFOs, Scientology theories, fairies and the government’s role in 9-11 all exist until you can disprove them.

That’s why it’s considered a logical fallacy (argumentum ad ignoratiam) and is generally discounted.

If you insist on your logic, then I contend that you are a La Raza supported alien/Big Foot hybrid who conspired with VP Cheney in taking down the Twin Towers.

Prove it ain’t so!

Perry is a liar and a thief. If anything, we have no real choice this time around . . . at least not yet.

All of your pontifications in large, bold fonts won’t make Perry anything more than he is.

As for the Republican candidates, Medina is the least likely to cause more damage than the other candidates. The governor of Texas has no power related to 9-11 and her unorthodox opinions will have little effect on the legislature.

However, expect Perry to reinstate his call for the forced immunization of young girls for STDs,reopen talks with Mexico, confiscate privately held property for the benefit of Mexican and Spanish corporations and keep our border enforcement at low levels.

When he does, I will post a very special thread just for you to thank you for your hard work.

Perry specifically singled out my wife’s profession (fitness trainers) for the benefit of child watch corporations. When I was called to active duty for the National Guard, my wife was forced to quit her job because of Gov. Rick “POS” Perry’s “leadership.”

We contacted the governor about his policy, which was changed just before I was called up. He didn’t give a damn.

Vote for Perry? Go ahead RINO-bot.

Well it doesn’t take alot to figure Medina out...I knew when she first began she wasn’t remotely close to having any type of qualifications to run a state...it’s not just telling Washington you don’t like them...it’s about who can run a state.

It’s like asking Perry or Hutch to oversee running an emergency room in a majoe university hospital..you have to know what’s going on. Medina’s a nurse, she’d have more a chance in that environment then running a state.....yet somehow people think she can run a state! That’s really crazy thinking...where are peoples heads!
