Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Mo., has signed on to legislation that would block the EPA from implementing its proposed greenhouse gas regulations. That’s a pretty clear sign that House Democrats are feeling the heat on climate change.

Skelton, 78, has been in Congress for 33 years and is chairman of the powerful House Armed Services Committee. But in 2010 he may face a tough re-election fight.

Last June, Skelton voted with his party leadership to implement a cap-and-trade bill. The bill passed the House 219-212.

I always wonder if they do this kind of thing, for the votes or if they do it out of conviction and concern for the country. At this point, I don’t care why he’s doing, I just thank God that he is.

Good news. Sounds as if he’s smarter than a stupid RINO or two that I could name.

Skelton, 78, has been in Congress for 33 years ...

That brings up a question ... can these old fossils draw their pension while still in congress? Are we paying wages and pensions both?

The only thing congresspeeple do out of ‘conviction’ is to keep from being convicted.

I think you are both right. To bad, we need people that will go into congress, stay a term or two, maybe three and leave. Unfortunately we get this people who make a carrier out of it, it inevitably becomes all about them.

Actually, the Congressman does look like a relative of Red Skelton. Uncanny.

You can be sure that if he were still around Red Skelton would NOT be an Obama-bot.
