GUATEMALA CITY -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the U.S. is "part of the problem" in Central America's worsening drug trade, and is working to reduce demand at home while assisting neighbors in their fight against traffickers.
"The United States under the Obama administration recognizes and accepts its share of responsibilities for the problems posed by drug trafficking in this region," Mrs. Clinton said today at a news conference at the Presidential Palace in Guatemala City, before meeting with regional presidents.
"That's an admission that we have been willing to make this past year," she said, adding the U.S. is determined to help Central America "fight this criminal scourge."

If she were President, the only reason she’d close the borders would be to keep us in, not to keep them out. Y’know, like Cuba... or North Korea.
I have to say that after watching her performance as Secretary of State, she would have been a HORRIBLE president. She’s been weak, dry, and surprisingly invisible...and every time I see her she looks like death rolled over. She’s not up to the task.

99% of the drugs that flow up through Central America and Mexico are destined for the US. The route used to be through the Caribbean but because of success in stopping boats and the like the trade shifted overland. We could talk about trying to stop it but it is like water and will find another way around. The only successful drug eradication program was Mao because he executed all the opium addicts.
STop the illegal alien traffic coming over the border (mules) and you’ll do a lot to stop the drug problem. Drugs isn’t the only scourge coming over the border...human trafficking, kidnapping, and more crime than anyone wants to admit.
And so did all those folks they hired in the WH who never were cleared.
