On radio show, Massa says Dem leaders railroaded him because he voted against ObamaCare

Rep. Eric Massa, D-N.Y., under investigation for alleged sexual harassment of a male staffer, accused House Democratic leaders of lying about the charges against him and using them to run him out of Congress because he voted against health care reform when it last came before the House.

Roll Call reports this morning that on the local radio show he hosts in his district, Massa said he had not been informed of the sexual harassment allegations before they became public. He claimed that Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., spoke falsely when he said he had brought the matter to him previously, Massa said. “Steny Hoyer has never said a single word to me, at all, ever, not once," Massa said. "Not a word. This is a lie. It’s a blatant, false statement."

Steny Hoyer is a well-known moral dwarf.

Massa is a liberal moonbat; in fact, he voted against Obamacare because it wasn’t liberal enough.

Massa explains vote on health bill

During months of debate on health care reform leading up to Saturday, Massa declared early on that he would not support the bill as written. Massa, one of 39 Democrats to vote against the bill, predicts it will not pass the Senate.

Massa said one of the reasons he voted against the health care bill was that it would have raised local property taxes by at least 3 percent by increasing the income eligibility for Medicaid.

Also, the bill would not fully make the insurance market competitive and unfairly required that Americans buy insurance or face penalties, he said.

Instead, of the massive comprehensive overhaul that the House bill seeks, Massa said health care should be reformed gradually.

Massa’s challenger in the 2010 election, Republican Tom Reed, has criticized the bill but said Massa’s vote was misleading.

“Eric Massa voted against this bill because it does not have enough government control in it. In his ideal world, he would eliminate private health care altogether,” Reed said.

I'm with you, I agree with Tom Reed. Of course Massa goes back to his conservative district with an editorial saying it raises taxes. But after he went to the Kos Konvention in Pittsburgh and claims he will adamantly vote against the interests of his district, guessing which way he would eventually go is a no-brainer.

All RATs make a pact with the devil.

Afterwards, when they cross the devil and receive his calling-card, they cry a river.

Of course! And now Patterson gets to decide if there will be a special election or not. Let’s see if he says let’s have it.

"Gov. Paterson (D) controls the date of the special election"

It's not as if Patterson has any love for Obama or just about any other Democrat right now. After all, they are the ones roasting him, not the pubbies...

Exactly. Massa is a strong-supporter of Canadian-style single-payer health insurance.

Am I missing something? Nothing in the article tells us why it became necessary for him to RESIGN today. Why didn’t he just keep his seat until his term ends?

Are we supposed to be more shocked at the charges against Massa than with Rangle’s corrupt misdeeds? Do they expect us not to notice that the Ethics Committee moved at lightening speed to coerce Massa but took over a year to lightly admonish Rangle for just one of his multiple criminal misdeeds? I DON’T THINK SO!

The Constitution provides that the Executive shall, Patterson can't leave the seat vacant until the next election rolls around. There's very little leeway, I suppose Patterson could put it off until a health care reform vote is scheduled, but open until August, worse, November? No.

So, why doesn’t this Massa character just stick it to Pelosi and Hoyer by staying in Congress and voting against their health care bill again?

I’m betting Gov. Patterson decides to flip one final bird to Obama and schedules a Special Election, sooner rather than later

The story is in Massa's local newspaper (Rochester, NY) today.
The readers commenting aren't buying his BS either.

Why bring out the popcorn? Do you really think the MSM is going to let anyone hear this? Do you think he will be on the morning shows? The Sunday shows? The news in general?

Massa will be lucky if he is able to get an audiance with his mother at this point. The corrupt MSM will bury him.

You are spot on ! Do not believe anything you see here at FR about the MSM being on a deathwatch. They are alive and well.
