Texas has CCW, lots of people have guns. And there’s lots of plainclothes cops here, so again - lots of guns.

Perhaps Starbucks should ban the press instead of people bearing arms.

Does not make sense either, does it?

No they shouldn’t ban the press or guns..

It’s just pro gun groups are putting Starbucks in the spotlight and making Starbucks the lightning rod for pro/anti gun controversy when they didn’t ask for the spotlight. Starbucks has nothing to do with guns and I don’t think its right to attract unneeded attention to them. Now if they banned guns then maybe protest them, but why Starbucks when most other businesses allow guns too.

Its like PETA protesting a car dealership. What does that have to do with anything.

I’m not a coffee drinker, either... but thanks for the idea. Suddenly, I’m thinking that Starbucks’ gift cards and bags of coffee are going to make for some good Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and birthday gifts!

It wasn’t CCW holders that started this. It was open carry, and masses of people with open carry weapons descended onto a starbucks to express the right to open carry. I would think non weapons types would think that is strange and probably make them feel uncomfortable if they happened to be in that store. Once they figured out what was going on maybe they’d be OK with it maybe not.. Just why Starbucks, they didn’t ask for the attention best I can tell.

The gun rights folks are overdoing it by purposely going into Starbucks stores with their guns. It’s bad press, even thou it’s legal. Having lots of folks walking around with guns is not normal and looks a little wacky to the average joe. Starbucks could easily say enough already, we are OK with guns, but don’t want the wacky press coverage so we’re banning them to put an end to this.

Cowards like you are the reason people think it isn't "normal" to walk around with guns. When I was a kid in the 1940s and 50s, it was quite normal for people to walk around carrying, either hand guns or long arms, most often long arms, and no one thought anything of it. To run scared from bad press, which gun advocates are going to get anyway from the communist news media, is just being a coward of the worse sort.

Carry openly or concealed, it matters not to me. BTW, the state I grew up in, but was not born in, was CA. Yep, at one time, in the not so distant past, CA residents didn't scream, turn white and hide under their beds if someone carried a gun around openly.

I just wish the many so called conservatives who post on FR and advocate not carrying openly would get a brain and realize that their attitudes are anything but conservative.

Down boy.. Man.. All I asked is why Starbucks? Why not protest a business that bans guns?

Actually, it was started by people who wished they had a shall-issue CCW and not a may-issue-if-you-are-rich-or-well-connected CCW out in CA.

And this has something to do with Starbucks?

I did a little searching and didn’t search enough to find what exactly started it..

But Brady anti gunners asked Starbucks to ban guns. Pro gun groups showed support for Starbucks allowing guns, that’s good. Not sure why Brady targeted Starbucks 1st, probably because their the biggest coffee brand VS Caribou or Dunn Bro’s or whoever.

I’m not sure which came 1st, pro carry folks showing support and going into Starbucks enmasse or Brady folks trying to get Starbucks to ban them. My research shows pro carry folks.

But Starbucks did ask to be left alone.

I give Starbucks credit for sticking to their guns to allow carry. But I say leave it at that. Give em our business but don’t draw undue attention to it.

Yeah, it started with people open-carrying unloaded guns into Starbucks’ in California to draw attention to the asinine gun laws there.

Starbucks allowed open carry and the Brady Campaign tried to make an issue of it. Starbucks didn’t “do” anything except serve customers.
