.

We have all been paying deductions into Medicare each week since LBJ/mid-60’s days

Now Obama and the radical democrats tell us they must cut all Medicare yearly by 50% - have a trillion buckeroos a year

To pay for illegal aliens and for healthy 14 year old boys to have abortions

Transexuals will be getting in on this as well as homosexual partners

This is an endless eternal exploding scam

It and “SIMULOUS” will be used to fund democrat campaigns, ACORN, Americorps, La Raza, MEchA, Planned Parenthood abortions (by using a different fed agency not now covered by bans on the fed funding of abortions)

is that the Slaughter rule? That something is deemed passed with no actual vote on it?

IIRC, one of the bills (either house or senate) had over 3,000 “Shalls”.

I sort of disagree.

Economics is a behavioral social study. It’s not an exact science.

Math and biology is an exact science. 2 +2 is always 4.

Unless the scientists get gubmint cheese and grant money, in which case they will cook the books and tell you that 2 + 2 means we are all going to die in a great big ball of fire unless you give us billions of dollars to save you from global warming/cooling/climate change/re runs of American Idol or anything else bad.

Heck, it’s a living.

"The House is readying to pass this Reconciliation bill which would then "deem" the original Senate bill (H.R. 3590) passed (by the House)"

I need clarification. I understand it to be that the original Senate bill will be deemed passed when the new House bill becomes law. Is that correct? I still don't like the "deemed" part but it would buy us some time to fight it.

Defeat Obamacare call list: List now contains the new MAYBES culled from FR posts.
PLEASE CALL! DC OFFICE LOCAL OFFICE State District

Code Red” - House Target List on Health Care

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

Bumping what you said. I was at a rally Michele Bachmann spoke at on Saturday. Sounds like they’re muddling everything the Constitution requires such as an aye or nay vote. I hate these liars.

"Ok. Dumb this down to my level......if the house passes this bill, it has to go through the Senate first. If the House had passed the bill straight out of the Senate, then it would go straight to the president’s desk. So by posting this bill it’s good news, because there’s still the Senate to get through."

Let me preface this by saying - this is what the Dems intend to do. I'm not saying this is Constitutional or will pass parliamentary muster, just that these are their intentions...

They've posted their proposed Reconciliation Bill. This bill will have to make it through the House Ways & Means (or perhpas finance, I'm not sure) comittee. Then, after some changes are presumably made, it will be brought to the House floor without debate, for an up or down vote - that is within the power of the Speaker. This reconciliation bill, when it comes to the House floor, will contain - in theory - a self-executing rule that will deem the original Senate Health Care bill passed by the House when the Reconciliation Bill is passed. That original health care bill (H.R. 3590) will then travel to the president's desk.

In the meantime, this Reconciliation bill will travel to the Senate where it will go through the Reconciliation Bill. After they clear the blood from the Parliamentarian's office, the Senate will vote on this Reconciliation Bill, and it will then be sent to the President for his signature. With it's passing and signing into law, the Reconciliation Bill make - again, in theory - changes to the original Senate bill (H.R. 3590), that the House liberal Democrats didn't like - like the Cadillac Tax, for instance.

In your opinion, is this Constitutional, or can SCOTUS kill it? I know it would just be opinion because everything is just speculation at this point. Just trying to sleep tonight. :)

What’s the difference between voting to DEEM something passed and actually voting to pass something? Would the American people really fall for semantics like that?

They’re not going to do that .. they will have a House vote and that will be it (because the Senate already voted and passed it) so they say - then O will sign it. It will be law.

Tomorrow our taxes will go through the roof.

However, since the “Senate bill” HAS BEEN CHANGED, then the bill they’re now posting online - IS NOT THE SENATE BILL THE SENATE VOTED FOR. Then how can they just have the House vote for it and consider it passed ..??

So .. even if the House passes it .. it would have to go back to the Senate to be voted on again .. Right .. What am I missing ..??

What the hell are these democrats up to ..??

No, the original Senate bill (H.R. 3590) will be deemed passed when the House votes on this (and presumably passes) this Reconciliation Bill that they've just posted.

You would then have the original Senate bill (H.R. 3590) passed by both Houses of Congress, and available for the President's signature. There have been some whispers that Nancy would hold onto the H.R. 3590 until the time that the Senate passes the Reconciliation bill. The Speaker can (and does from time to time) hold legislation. In fact, the Speaker can hold it for a year, or until the session ends, whichever comes first. Of course, this raises the legal dilemma of "can a Reconciliation Bill be voted on before the original legislation actually becomes law. That is the problem which will probably be worked out in the Supreme Court, if they elect to hear such a case.
