It's a Civil War: What We Do Now

A terrible thing happened to America on Sunday, March 21, 2010.

The country took its biggest step ever down a road diametrically opposed to its original intent of keeping the state small so that the individual can be free and great.

Therefore, in this unprecedented crisis of values, this is what needs to be done:

1. Know and teach America's core values.

We got to this point solely because over the past few generations, Americans have forgotten the values that have made America distinctive and great. Even the "Greatest Generation" failed to communicate them.

In a nutshell, they are what I call the American Trinity: "In God we trust," "Liberty" and "E Pluribus Unum." The left has successfully made war on all three -- substituting secularism for God and religion in as much of American life as possible; substituting equality (of result) for liberty; and multiculturalism is the opposite of "E Pluribus Unum."

People who do not understand American ideals -- especially small government -- now dominate our schools, our entertainment media and our news media.

2. Recognize that we are fighting the left, not liberals.

Conservatives and centrists are no longer fighting liberals. We are fighting the left.

Liberalism believed in American exceptionalism; the left not only does not believe in it, the left opposes it. President Obama, when asked if he believes in American exceptionalism, replied, "I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism, and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism."

Liberalism believed in creating wealth; the left is interested in redistributing it.

Liberalism believed in a strong defense. The left believes in cutting defense and a strong United Nations.

3. Democrats should be referred to as Social Democrats. This is not meant to be cute, let alone as a slur. But calling Democrats Social Democrats is an effective way of reminding Americans that there is no longer any difference between what is now known as the Democratic Party and the Social Democratic parties of Europe. When the Democratic Party returns to its roots as a liberal, not a left-wing, party, we will happily resume calling the party by its original name. However, since no Democrat can cite a significant difference between the Democratic Party and the SD parties, there is no good reason not to use the more accurate nomenclature.

4. Work tirelessly to repeal the bill.

We must single-mindedly work to repeal the government health plan. We all know that it is difficult to repeal entitlements because they are like drugs and it is very difficult to wean people off drugs. But it is not impossible. We need to warn our fellow Americans that entitlements will do to America what drugs eventually do to addicts.

All Republicans must run for office on the "repeal" issue. Even when they lose, the difference between right and left, between Republicans and Social Democrats will have been made clear; and clarity is our best friend.

5. Our motto: "The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen."

I used this phrase in addressing the Republican members of Congress. It has become widely used, including by Rep. David Dreier, R-Calif., on the House floor during the Congressional debate on Sunday. It encapsulates this epic battle of American values versus leftist values. Every movement needs a motto. I nominate this.

6. Do not let other matters distract.

Neither Republicans nor conservatives are united on every issue facing America. Immigration is one example. But we are united on the big government vs. free individual issue, which, more than anything else, has defined America. If we allow any other domestic issue to divide us, we will lose.

And here's why: If Americans forget what America stands for, it won't help us if there is not one illegal immigrant here. And if we do remember what it means to be American, we can handle anything.

7. Acknowledge that we are in a non-violent civil war.

I write the words "civil war" with an ache in my heart. But we are in one.

Thank God this civil war is non-violent. But the fact is that the left and the rest of the country share almost no values. The American value system and the leftist value system are irreconcilable. If the left wins, America's values lose. If American values prevail, the left loses.

After Sunday's vote, for the first time in American history, one could no longer confidently believe that the American system will prevail. And if we don't fight for it, we don't deserve it.

Yep, we need to demand representation for the majority of Americans, just as the left muscled its way in. Otherwise all will be lost.

But by all means, take up your 9mm and rush into the breach. You will become just another "60 minutes" propaganda piece they can archive next to Ruby Ridge.

I'm not going rushing off anywhere with a 9mm. But I just don't think the civil disobedience tactic has any value to us.

As for Ruby Ridge, Well, sadly the cost of the learning lesson was paid in blood, but I do think it did open a lot of eyes to the nature of the beast.

Until we stop allowing corporations to contribute to political campaigns then write the laws to be enacted by congress, this repression will only get worse.

The downfall of this country can be pinpointed to the moment the supreme court said a corporation has the same rights as the individual. That was the death knell for individual rights and the power of the citizen over his government.

It has ushered in the era of global socialism, and we are only just beginning to feel and see its destructive effects.

Congress has their own jets to fly to ‘economic summits’ with global corporations,to get their legislative agendas.

That is what has to be stopped. It is the battle that will win the civil war that is now brewing in this country.

If amnesty goes through, I really don’t know what I will do. I am at my breaking point. My quality of life has gone down so fast in the last 2 yrs. that I can barely catch my breath.

I think that the history of the last half century belies your comment. The Soviet Union and the Warsaw bloc collapsed without a single shot being fired, the Marco’s in the Phillipines, the Duvaleigh (sp?)’s in Haiti, the Orange revolution, the Green revolution, need I name more?

I don’t disagree with you, but I don’t think that we face an armed insurrection in the US any time soon, thank God. What the Dems face is a whoopin at the ballot box. That is precisely because the Dems used their power and they have over-reached.

Funny thing...

I was talking to my Dad yesterday...I asked him what he thought about when, if the Federal government starts enforcing an un-Constitutional law, and begins to apply the fees, fines, and eventual detainment/encarceration aspect of this bill...

Does that warrant the use of deadly force (per the laws of our state) in resisting that un-Constitutional enforcement of that illegal law???

I’ll let y’all guess the conclusion we came up with...You may actually be surprised...

Some may not...

Until we are militant about representation in the media and education on all levels, this will continue downhill.

That is a fact most of the RINOS don't understand. Our schools are run by the NEA, which is an arm of the democrap party.

I share your anger at what is going on. You can say things like "only if we let them." But at this point, the left would like nothing better than a few "right wing nuts" to commit violence. In fact, if it doesn't happen they will try and fabricate it. The public will not go for that now. When the food shortages come, that will be a different story.

Not that any of us should be fearful, but we all do know that our tyrannical government is using tax dollars to pay a bunch of slugs to monitor "right wing" web sites; right?

I don't think we'll have 50 states under our current constitution in another generation. Not sure what it will look like, but the USA will no longer be united.

The “Bowman Strategy” would be to take out the agent, then go after who sent him. I don’t think this is a good tactic, as you’d be engaging the agents on their timing and with their tactics and backup.

I completely agree with your assessment, except who sent the agent is irrelevant. Without willing agents, tyrants are impotent. Bleeding and dying is no way to make a living.

I think a civil society would be best served by citizens constantly at the ready to interdict the agent's exercise of power... Think of the proverbial palestinian gunman knocking over a grocery store, only to be shot down by eight israeli housewives.

Big talk. We could only muster 50,000 people to stand around and shout in DC on Saturday. I tried to get others to join me but you know, they lived too far away, the kids got a soccer game etc. In November we could only get 10,000 because God forbid somebody misses a days wages for the government to tax. This is the reality right now. You think your going to get a critical mass of people to take up arms at this point? If you do, you are nuts. People will rise up that way when they are going hungry, not before. I have been pushing hard in this struggle. I have three weeks vacation scheduled in the lead up to the November elections in order to work against the tyrants. And yea when the call comes I'll be there. But I'm not following a hot head who is all talk.
