WASHINGTON - Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson has been hospitalized with what doctors believe is a bacterial infection, according to the Georgia lawmaker's office.

Isakson, 65, began feeling ill and dehydrated Monday and was admited to a Georgia hospital for treatment.

"Senator Isakson is responding very well to the treatment and is feeling much better," said spokeswoman Joan Kirchner. "He met this morning with his Senate chief of staff at the hospital and hopes to be back at work soon."

Seein' how he's a Republican I'll say a prayer for him.

It's no good for me to try saying a prayer for Democrats, as I don't have a channel open to Satan.

I believe it is filled by the governor, who is, in this case, a republican.

The Governor appoints a replacement, usually from the Governor’s own party. In this case, our Governor, Sonny Perdue, is a Republican. A few years ago, Sen. Paul Coverdell (R) died during Roy Barnes’ (D) tenure, and he appointed a Democrat to replace him (Zell Miller).

I’d love to hear what Zell thinks about this past year and what his party has done.

Listen to Pat Caddell. I’m sure that Zell’s feelings are pretty much in line with what Caddell says.

Johnny would be exempt from Obamacare because he gets his own private health care. The same as all other Congresscritters.

Sheesh, I just read this on AJC and you wouldn’t believe the nasty comments, especially comments on his having healthcare (while the less fortunate don’t)

Actually, I’m sure y’all would believe it.

Under the new healthcare law signed today, Hussein will be able to appoint any office holder who is unable to attend a session of Congress. The new office holder is not subject to a vote of the people or confirmation by the legislature.

I traveled to Atlanta for an eye surgery about a year ago and picked up a copy of the AJC to read during my overnight stay. I haven't seen such liberal, fruitcake garbage in Alabama in terms of the op-eds!

Actually, the Tuscaloosa News (an NYT paper) is starting to become pretty progressive in the last couple of years. Still, my point on the AJC remains.

Does this mean that BHO is able to send a proxy vote?

If so, God help us...
