Of course they're going to ram amnesty through.
They just got done showing us that no matter how unpopular the legislation, they can get it through.
Besides: they need someone who will vote for them.
They are going to f**k with the election of 2010. Why do you think they're so casual about all of this? Because they don't think they're going to be voted out. And why would they think that?

This is not “supposed” to be able to fit into a reconciliation bill. Doesn’t mean they won’t try though. McCain at least is now poutibustering the Rats.

Maybe not perfect but it worked better than it does now for reasons that are painfully obvious.

I don’t think that an amnesty bill would even have to make it through Congress to ignite wholesale insurrection in this country.
The people aren’t stupid, and given what just happened with the Obamacare bill, the people will rightly conclude that the Socialists will ram this through, as well.
They will also (rightly) conclude, as this author has, that once the illegal aliens are made legal citizens, they will ensure the Socialist lock on Congress forever. That is the end of the republic, and any semblance of the country we know and love.
There will be rebellion, if amnesty even comes close to passing.

I know Im going to get slammed for this but the plain truth is this: We need a literacy test, a competency test, and proof of citizenship AT THE VERY LEAST before one is able to vote in America.Slammed? OK, I'll slam you.
You didn't go far enough. In addition to your conditions (which I agree with), only taxpayers should be allowed to vote. Taxpayers have a vested interest (and a financial obligation) to the nation. Those on the dole don't.
Underage dependents (children) don't vote, and for sound reason. Yet the adult dependent class does.
And the Democrats understand the dynamic of this voting bloc too.

You could see this coming six months ago. Obama needs all these new voters to make sure we don’t kick the Dhimmacrats out in November. If we let this slide through we are finished as America.

The ironic thing is...
if Obama does unleash amnesty upon us...
the damage he has and continues to do to the economy...
will mean fewer and fewer jobs for anyone...
even the illegals!!
Actually, I have seen reports of a stronger flow south than north at the USA/Mex border.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember when Obama said passing the stimulus package would allow Catepillar to start re-hiring...
but, it actually meant laying off thousands more?
And now, he claimed health care reform will save money and create jobs...
but Catepillar says, it will cost them at least 100 milion for this quarter alone!
Does anyone else think Obama is not very good with numbers??
Coordinate, unite, get one a clear message about why this controversial, very troublesome bill will make America worse off, not better. We have to be united on this. I know McCain and Graham are looking at the demographics, but we better get a unified and clear message that can be easily understood about our position on this. We have to stop reacting and marginalizing our own and start winning over the majority.
And the Catholic bishops are on board! They’ve taken a break from funding pro-abortion politicians’ campaigns, and ACORN, etc., and they are already mailing out postcards campaigning for passage of the Permanent Pro-Abortion Majority Act—amnesty for undocumented Democrats.
So in our history of the United States, we are going to have two Presidents who passed Amnesty...President Reagan and President Obama...what is going on. Although had President Bush been successful, he would have been the third.
Widespread, Justified American Grassroots Civil Disobedience will be in order if they try this again. I am serious. Now to creatively find out what would be effective to really fix their wagons. Some of it could be bringing their immigration "regularization" bureaucracy to a complete halt so that no illegals could get any newly proposed documents to show they are legalized, because regular Americans would flood the offices nationwide with incessantly repeated / polite non threatening calls, repeated faxes, personal visits to take up staff time, bogus requests for forms over and over again, just torching the forms or throwing them in alleyways (after making them unusuable) and asking for me, etc. etc. to completely shut down whichever federal agency was tasked to officially codify them as having "legal status." With this counter-legalization effort reaching into the MILLIONS of Americans (many of them unemployed with all the time on their hands not to mention angry at the thought of illegals being legalized in order to take US jobs during a recession/depression), the whole Federal system could be brought to a complete standstill....and there would not be a damned thing they could do about it....millions upon millions of illegal persons on our soil would not be "legal" because they would continue to remain "undocumented" in terms of documentation ....and keeping them at bay for six more months until a new Republican Senate/House could get in place in January is all that we would need--just run the clock out on them. We can enjoy at LEAST a Republican Congress until 2014 and certainly a Republican Presidency from 2012 to 2016. Forcing them back to their homelands through attrition (cutting off of social services, etc) would be undergone during this time. The Demos would see lost vote after lost vote getting in cars and vans and busses and heading out of our country for good, thus further denying them the permanent underclass majority vote they are seeking to construct with the twin evils of Obamacare and Legalization of Aliens.
Just thinking aloud here. They can pass any damned law or executive order they want in the Beltway with respect to I.C.E. laws and residency, but if the bureaucracy cannot function to carry it out, there will be minimal to no real effect of the new law. Gandhi would be smiling.
I would say that America’s ignorance is in first place as its worst enemy, the corrupt government is the result of this ignorance. In the past the worst enemy consisted of those who set up the deliberate failure to educate that has resulted in people walking around with advanced degrees but lacking the basic education that used to be taught in the first eight years at public schools back in the fifties. When people who actually are educated but lack a sheepskin are considered unqualified but those who have post graduate degrees but lack a high school education are considered qualified the result is present day America.
I see no way to turn this around in the short term. Perhaps a new nation can be built on the ruins but the America we have known and loved is gone already.
You cant save a house that has already burned to the ground but you can rebuild on old foundations.
And, *presto*, 30 million new Democrat voters - because that's what this is really all about!
Of course they are going to ‘butt naked’ raham through AMNESTY, it is after all the ‘compassionate’ religious thing to do. Isn't this all about making ‘heaven’ here on earth?
